I am intelligent, funny, and compassionate.
My Self-Summary
After a long break, I am ready for serious dating and finding the
right guy to build a life together. If I meet new friends along the
way, all the better.
I am a bit rusty with dating, but have a lot to offer. I am
intelligent, compassionate, a good communicator/listener, and many
say I have a great sense of humor. I like to balance my day job of
being political/wanting to save the world with tons of free time
and having fun. I love urban environments and nature equally,
nights out and staying in. I lean more towards enjoying intimate
encounters with one person than big group outings, but comfortable
with both.
Looking for guys around my age (just turned 40) who enjoy some of
the following: SF Giants, film, theater, travel, urban walks,
hiking, running, politics, quality conversation. My ideal match
would have some/all of these qualities: intelligence, sense of
humor, gentleness, independence, good communicator.
What I’m doing with my life
In my day job, I am director of public policy at a national
non-profit. I also ensure I have enough time for friends, family,
fun, nature, etc. Try to stay fit with running, gym, hiking. Also
into film, theater, urban walks, chilling at home, exploring new
restaurants, travel.
I’m really good at
lots of stuff but I'm not the type to spell it all out.
The first things people usually notice about me
My smile or the funny way I walk.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Movies (this year): 500 Days of Summer, Extract, An
Education.
Movies (previous): Squid and the Whale, Half Nelson, Rosemary's
Baby, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Ice Storm, Repulsion, Slumdog
Millionaire
Music: Stevie Nicks, Dolly Parton, Emmylou Harris, Lucinda
Williams, Conor Oberst, Killers, Maria McKee, Shirley Bassey, Cyndi
Lauper, Pet Shop Boys, Annie Lennox
Food: Sushi, vietnamese, fried seafood, any seafood actually, BLTs,
blueberries, Reese's peanut butter cups, and much more.
Books: Too many to name - latest favorite is A Thousand Splendid
Suns
The six things I could never do without
my cat (is that a thing?), coffee, Pandora, New Yorker, Trader
Joe's, string cheese
I spend a lot of time thinking about
what I want my 40's to look like.
On a typical Friday night I am
exhausted from a long week and usually just have dinner with
friends or watch a movie at home. I like early Friday nights so I
can get up on Saturday morning and get to the gym.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I'm going to the David Archuleta holiday concert on Nov. 30th.
You should message me if
Any of the above interests you and you are serious about dating and
possible relationship.
