My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm John! I just graduated from Stanford with a mechanical engineering degree, and will be finishing up my Master's there by the end of the year. As for things you should know about me . . .

1. I'm a musician. A pretty solid one. I've played the trumpet for a decade at this point, and love to play in all sorts of different genres, from jazz to classical to blues to funk to latin to rock. I can handle both improvised and written music, and can play really high and loud if I want to, so I'll knock your socks off figuratively AND literally. So if you ever need a trumpeter for a gig, want to jam sometime, or just would like to listen, hit me up!

2. I'm a total techie. And rather handy. Whether it's computers, cars, electronics, or random hobbies and projects around the house, if it's something mechanical or technical, I'm all over it. And if it's broken and can be fixed, I can probably take care of it. It's the mechanical engineer in me.

3. I'm a huge sports fan as well as an amateur athlete. My teams are all of the Boston area professional teams as well as the Stanford teams and of course the US national teams for the Olympics and fùtbol. I also love to play soccer and work out whenever I can, though my fitness level is admittedly inversely proportional to my course load in any given quarter . . . I also love to get outside and explore new places, either by taking a nice drive or a nice hike off to a new place. My old Porsche is awesome to drive once you show it some twisty roads.

Well, I think that just about covers the basics. If you want to know more, you'll just have to shoot me a message and find out yourself!
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Just graduated with my Bachelor's, and now working on a Master's degree from Stanford. After that, hopefully a (permanent) job in engineering.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Engineering, playing the trumpet and working with computers. Not too bad at soccer either, as long as I'm in decent shape.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Either that I'm good at the trumpet (if you meet me while I'm playing), that I'm asian (despite only being half asian), or that I'm something of the strong, silent type. Until you get to know me better, that is.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Top Gear, Mythbusters, Saving Private Ryan, the Harry Potter series, Tom Clancy, jazz, classic rock, Dizzy Gillespie, Maynard Ferguson, Miles Davis, Tower of Power, Chicago, The Who, Queen, Frank Sinatra, Stevie Wonder, Italian food. And since video games aren't on the list: Mass Effect series, the Legend of Zelda series, Fire Emblem, pretty much any decent RPG.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Friends and family, at least one of my computers, my wallet, either my bike or my car, my trumpet, something to keep me engaged (be it work or entertainment).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Everything? My schoolwork, future career plans, politics, philosophy, etc.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Either out with friends, stuck inside working like a grad student, or stuck inside supposed to be working like a grad student but actually just procrastinating. As far as the methods of procrastination are concerned, they range from tinkering with random stuff to practicing my trumpet to playing all sorts of games.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm surprisingly cuddly. Not many people know that about me, but it's the truth.
