I like having passionate conversations and pointless debates. I wish I played darts more, but I also wish I was better at darts. I have a recurring dream where I take a student loan check, cash it, and go directly to an airport asking for the next flight to Europe. The only reason I want money is so that I don't have to worry about it. I wish I had more friends that were not in grad. school because we are a pretty insular group, but I do have some really great friends. Because I have three older sisters and no brothers, I grew up listening to Sisters With Voices and Fleetwood Mac when my peers were listening to REM and Weezer. As you might have gathered, I was not the coolest kid in junior high. I go through phases where I run regularly, then remember how boring it is, then find it relaxing. I want to buy a bike because I feel like I would ride it places and thus work out in the process of doing stuff. That is the idea at least.

I am a transplant from Illinois that just moved to Durham, and am enjoying getting to know the South--especially the shrimp and grits. Most of my daytime is spent reading, writing, and teaching. I am a PhD student, but I manage to find plenty of time to relax and socialize with friends. I am looking for a person to hangout with and occasionally laugh at my jokes.

Grad school--I study publics and social movements. For about the last five years I have wanted to be a college professor, and I am still 95% sure about that. I like teaching and researching things that I think are important.

Golden Tee. It is okay if you don't know what this is--it's the golf video game that usually sits unused in the corner of a bar. I have never played golf, so you might wonder why I ever played Golden Tee. Someday I will tell you the whole story, but for now I will leave some mystery...

I love cooking and long conversations. Although they are hundreds of miles away, I keep in close contact with my family, and always look forward to hanging out with my many nieces and nephews. I have great friends and think that cool summer nights go best with craft beer or dry white wine.
