My self-summary
I'm an idealist/romantic (ENFJ for those who like to look stuff up) who finds there is so much of life still to explore. Finding people to do that with, in whatever way, is what I'm looking for. People are like music, there's tons of different kinds and all have something to bring to this crazy world that can brighten up a day. Who doesn't like to wake up to a little rock and roll now and then? Or stretch out sensually to new age? Each person is their own symphony and I love to listen. :)

I'm dedicated to the pursuit of knowledge and can often be found reading any number of books (my Kindle is the bane of my pocketbook and the source of much joy). I believe being open, honest, and self-reflective are not just slogans but a real way to live. Yup, I'm a nice guy. We do exist, really. :)

I am looking for people to truly share life with, people who want a partner who wants to live life upon principle. I agree with the values of open communication, honest introspection, the ability to pursue connections anywhere within the bounds of authenticity and honesty. I am sex positive and enjoy the myriad ways that energy is shared between people. Being committed to myself and connecting honestly with others means expanding the expression of care and love, watching as more builds more. Nobody is second to someone else, each connection is powerful and wonderful in its own right. None of us need be owned by another, or look to be completed, for we are whole already. To be who we are is in finding union and attunement with others who hold the space within them for exploration and expression, to be not simply loved but wanted. I am always open to each connection that develops as it is, full of compassion for our individual journeys and open to constant growth in awareness.

I completed an MA in forensic psychology (no it's not like "criminal minds") and have gone through a program for counseling. I also continue to study everything from religion, history, philosophy, sociology and science in general. I enjoy knowing new things. :) If you're curious what I think about things check out "Spirit of Dissent" at blogspot or on Amazon.

A good reasoned and impassioned debate/discussion is helluva fun.I like other points of view and enjoy the plethora of human experiences. Do I have opinions? Absolutely. Do I love how people think? Even more so. :)

Getting out into nature is wonderful. Sharing the peace and openness it can bring makes me smile. I enjoy doing new things. :-)

I know of no other way to communicate except the way I do: with a smile and with conviction.

To share life and love and joy is not an action but a beingness.

Oh and I greatly enjoy laughing uninhibited. :) And blowing bubbles. And laughing while watching Winnie the Pooh :)
What I’m doing with my life
I am enjoying doing what I love and finding connections that stem from it. Am big into writing, both blogging ("Spirit of Dissent") and working on book projects having already published two books ("Journeys Of A Spiritual Atheist" and "Further Journeys Of A Spiritual Atheist"). I've also started my own business, Life Weavings, LLC, and am teaching classes on relational dynamics as well as individual coaching.

My joy is found not in what I have but in who I am and who I am with. I've come to appreciate that the space I need is always merely a request away and am looking at moving forward in life.
I’m really good at
Helping people laugh and getting under their skin. I like to cover the whole spectrum. :) Oh, and massages. I love working with my hands. :)

Listening. If you're in front of me, there is nobody else. To be seen, truly seen, is a wonderful thing.

And playing with kids. The steady stream of parents who say "you don't have kids but mine love you and you play so well with them" would get annoying if I truly didn't love children so much.
The first things people usually notice about me
My blue eyes, which get deeper when really emotional or when I'm wearing certain colors. :) Closely following this, I like to smile/laugh, talk and am opinionated. Hmm. These days smiling and laughing more than ever before. It's good to be alive. :)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books:

I read a lot. Really. I'm on my way to 100 books this year. This list is only a sampling. :)

Fiction: JRR Tolkien, Guy Gavriel Kay, Frank Herbert (I like reading the "Dune" series every couple years), Tad Williams, George R.R. Martin, Douglas Adams, Anne McCaffrey, Robert Jordan, Terry Goodkind, Scott Bakker, classic literature, The 5th Sacred Thing, Anita Blake series (so hot!), Orson Scott Card

Psych: Owen Flannagan, Erich Fromm (no other thinker so clearly mirrors my opinions on psychology and sociology), Steven Pinker, George Lakoff, Daniel Siegel (I'm quite into attachment theory and inter-relational dynamics), The Ethical Slut (a not-so-poly book that gets recommended but doesn't teach much)

Science/Religion: Sam Harris, Christopher Hitchens (while abrasive, the man can't put words together without it being absolutely brilliant, it's disgusting, lol), Susan Blackmore, Richard Dawkins, Michael Shermer, Ken Wilber, Ernest Holmes, Joel Goldsmith, Thich Nhat Hanh

Movies: Princess Bride, Last Samurai, Serenity, Jet Li movies, Evil Dead, LOTR trilogy, vampire movies, Knocked Up, Wedding Crashers, Secretary, The Fountain, Tron, Matrix, Thor, Batman, comedies and yes, even "chick flicks"

T.V.: Being Human, Once Upon A Time, White Collar, Dexter, TrueBlood, Game of Thrones, Daily Show, Colbert Report, Psych, Grimm, Covert Affairs and Firefly!
The six things I could never do without
My Kindle: I rarely buy physical books anymore.

A computer with Internet: I'm an information junkie. :)

Music: 12,500 tracks and counting. It's a healthy obsession. Really. ;)

Friends to share life with: what's a story without people to share it with?

Passion: It's the core of who I am.

Love: Always, evolving, and increasing.

(Hmm.... not necessarily in that order, lol)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
People. Events. Things. Spirituality. The universe. Purpose. Connections. And sometimes all of it at the same time. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
Enjoying the freedom of having time open! Whether it's just hanging out over coffee, out dancing or spending time with friends I'm looking to enjoy myself. :)

The most private thing I’m willing to admit
All depends on what you want to know. Have to be willing to ask.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 22–40
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You care to chat about anything or something in particular. Have a passion in your life that is about making the world better, even if only a small part of it.

Want to explore new trails in nature or metaphorically in life.

Have a great laugh and want to share it.

Or simply want to roll the dice with an intellectual nice guy who cannot help but passionately express all that is inside him.
