My self-summary
I guess for a start I should say that my name is not actually Reba. Well, i guess it is sort of...it's Rebecca but most people call me Becca or Bec. The Reba thing is a joke from many moons ago; I didn't realize when creating this account that I wouldn't be able to change it.

I love to travel, though my work schedule doesn't allow room for much. I've been involved in many charities from a young age, but most recently I have been mixing domestic travel and charitable fundraising by participating in the Komen 3-Day...the answer to most of your questions about this are: yes it's really 60 miles, yes it hurts, no I have never cheated and taken a shortcut.

I've been told that I am incredibly easy to talk to, but I also know that I am incredibly blunt. If you ask my opinion, I'm going to give it...It won't always be what you want to hear, you've been warned.

I grew up in Bergen County NJ, went to college in New York City and moved to Philadelphia 6 years ago. OKCupid updates my location to either Bella Vista, Queen Village, Washington Square West, or Society Hill depending on which corner of my apartment I am standing. Maybe it's better to say I live in South Philly, I live in the best beer drinking area of the city; challenge me on that.
What I’m doing with my life
I've worked in labor development for the past few years and currently work in non-profit professional development. I facilitate workshops on proper business etiquette, personal branding, job search strategy, social/face to face networking. I love what I do, I help people to be the best that they can be and give them the confidence they need to successfully re-enter employment.
I’m really good at
- Getting excited over things of little to no importance.
- Parallel parking. (on both sides of the street, if it were an Olympic event I'd medal)
- Surprising people with gifts that they mentioned only once in conversation months earlier. (I'm a super retainer of random conversational tidbits)
- Making chicken soup.
- Using chopsticks.
- Using dated words and phrases like "keep your eyes peeled", "swell", "dandy", and "back in a jiffy".
The first things people usually notice about me
My eyes, eyelashes, and hair. My eyes are a dark brown that most mistake for black and my eyelashes and hair alike are the envy of most women.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: Pride and Prejudice may be my favorite book of all time, I reread it often. I also pick up my college textbooks from time to time to revisit what I was quick to forget after graduation. I'm a big magazine reader, National Geographic, The New Yorker and Bon Appetit are top of the list. If I were left to wander a bookstore, I naturally gravitate to religion and spirituality...when it comes to reading I'm all over the place.

Movies: anything but blood and guts horror.

Shows: I don't watch a lot of TV; if I do, it's usually the news, and maybe a sitcom here and there, the only show I've kept up to date with recently is The Following.

Music: I grew up listening to and love motown, the oldies in general, The Beatles and The Four Seasons are tops. My more recent picks of "today's music" include Mumford and Sons, Black Keys, Vampire Weekend, Mikal Cronin, LCD Soundsystem, Dr. Dog, Phoenix, Avett Brothers, Delta Spirit, Matt & Kim, pretty much whatever xpn is pumping out.

Food: I absolutely hate the word foodie so I'm not going to label myself as such, but my friends and I are quick to jump on tryng new restaurants and new menu items all over the city. Give me the mustiest aged meats at Le Virtu, the uni and scrambled eggs at Vernick, and everything/anything in between.
The six things I could never do without
In fairness, the following six things listed I can absolutely live without I just choose not to.

1. A great cup of coffee.
2. A valid passport...just in case.
3. My wee fur-man, Harvey.
4. Good company.
5. Bacchanalia.
6. Sunny days.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Why people in this city are so bad at parking, how time can fly by yet at other times take an eternity to pass, what my dog does when I'm at work all day, how upset I am that the number of cabs I have taken in NYC has never resulted in a ride in the Cash Cab with Ben Bailey, whether I locked my car, where I parked my car for that matter, and when it comes to this website what I really spend a lot of time thinking about is this:

Why are so many guys on this website so damn perverted, and why so many are for lack of a better term, flaky.

a) don't introduce yourself to me with your dick size
b) if you're "over it", just say so. Maybe guys are used to over sensitive girls, but I'd rather know than wonder what happened.
On a typical Friday night I am
Every Friday is a bit different, depending on whether or not I am working on Saturday morning you'll either find me at one of my awesome neighborhood bars with some friends, heading to North Jersey to visit my family for the weekend, or home hanging with my pooch.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I very well may have used the term "bomb diggity" on national television within the last year.
I’m looking for
  • Straight guys only
  • Ages 25–32
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You have something better to offer than "hey", "hi", or "damn girl". I love meeting new people, I try to reply frequently and have no hesitation when it comes to grabbing that quick cup of coffee (as long as it's good coffee, none of that Dunkin Donuts crap)(also, please don't ever allow me to hear the word expresso out of your mouth) or a post-work drink....you can't really screw that one up. I don't bite (unless you ask me to) so shoot me a message, what's the worst that can happen?
