My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a compulsive reader and book-buyer, and the people I tend to like are usually readers too. I also love to travel--I spent six months in India a few years ago, and it was one of the most exhilarating/terrifying/educational experiences of my life. Besides that, I enjoy: having big laughs, appreciating weather, thinking up potential cat names, eating delicious things, and enjoying the company of wonderful people.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a librarian and I really love my job. If you also like libraries then I bet we'll get along!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making people feel comfortable, making conversation, memorizing bits of poetry, recommending novels, baking cookies, and winning over children.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know if this necessarily answers the question, but I will say that I think I get asked for directions way more than the average person, and I think that's because I wear glasses and have curly hair (the glasses make me look competent and the curly hair makes me look approachable).
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Some favourite books include: Lolita, As I Lay Dying, American Pastoral, To the Lighthouse, Middlemarch, Invisible Man, and The Sun Also Rises. And so so so many more. I read Infinite Jest last summer and it has definitely made the list--I think about it more than is probably normal, and I basically always want to talk about it, so if you are a fellow devotee then message me even if only to tell me which part made you laugh the loudest or cry the hardest or whatever.

I usually say my favourite movies are Annie Hall and A Room with a View, and some other ones I love include Lost in Translation, His Girl Friday, Punch Drunk Love, Gosford Park, Rushmore, There Will Be Blood, and Manhattan. I rarely see movies in theatres but I do love curling up with a good one in the comfort of my (or someone else's) home.

The Wire is obviously the best show in the history of television, and I've seen the whole thing three times. I will very happily watch it from the beginning with you. I also love: Seinfeld, Curb Your Enthusiasm, Extras, Louie, and Deadwood.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
a library card, chocolate, Beethoven's music, good friends, flowers, and sushi.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I watch The Bachelor and there's nothing you can do to stop me.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're smart and interesting and compassionate and you think we might get along.
