I am independent, reliable, and ambitious.

My Self-Summary

Simply put, I'm a single girl looking for a single guy. I am not someone who is rushing to the alter or picking out baby names. Right now I am just looking for someone to share life's experiences with.

I am someone who is proactive, who enjoys a challenge, who is not too dramatic, but who does not run away from emotion. I can accompany you to a social event where you are the only familiar face in the room and get along just fine.

I find that as I get older, my routine gets more embedded and I'd like someone to come into my life and shake things up a bit. I have an amazing group of friends, but also excited to meet someone who has the same and would welcome me into that world. I'm ready to expand my way of life and am excited to find someone to do that with.

I'm comfortable in my own skin and hanging out with myself. Not in a loner way... I have plenty of friends and an active social life, but do enjoy my alone time. I'm the opposite of needy so if you want a girl who will be hanging all over you, that's not me.

What I’m doing with my life

I am lucky to say that my career is also my passion.

In the last few years I've left corporate America and am working freelance. I won't lie, it's a hard road. However, after years of working for other people, I chose to give up the nice salary and expense account and embark on a life that has made me much happier.

I do work a lot, but life and work intertwine for me. This doesn't mean that I'm a workaholic, just that I'm ambitious and realize that if I don't work hard, I won't achieve the goals I have set out for myself. Yes, I'm a planner. At least for myself. I set long term goals and stick to them. Sure, roads diverge and life changes, but my eyes stay on the prize.

I'd like to find someone who is as equally as driven and passionate about his career. I know how to make time for my friends and family and believe that this balance isn't as hard as some make it out to be.

I’m really good at

coming up with ideas, giving my friends advice, not taking that advice myself, finding amazing books to read, arts and craft projects like refurnishing furniture and photography...

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm short. Only 5 feet tall. I assume most guys notice that I have small breasts... just putting it out there.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

The bookstore is one my favorite places. Can't leave without buying something. Some are: The History of Love, We Need To Talk About Kevin, anything by Wally Lamb or David Sedaris, The Abstinence Teacher, Motel Life, The Perks of Being a Wallflower... the list goes on and on.

I love music and have friends who work in the music business so often find myself being one of the first people to hear about a new band. Some of those bands are: Loney, Dear, The Big Pink, The XX, Bon Iver, Damien Rice, Florence and the Machine, Fanfarlo, Laura Marling, Wolfe Parade, Frightened Rabbit ...

I'm open to trying any types of food. Have favorite restaurants, but not necessarily favorite foods. I don't like sushi and yes, I've tried your favorite place. Everyone always says that if you don't like sushi then you haven't had it at the right place, but I've tried them all and still don't like it...

The six things I could never do without

1. my cat
2. my old SLR camera I bought in the 9th grade
3. my mom
4. my patience
5. my sight
6. laughter.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

my future. I wonder why I'm still single at 30, not in the woe is me way, just a natural curiosity. I wonder why people spend more time online than in person. I don't think that it's hard to meet people while out in LA, but I do think guys have changed and don't seem as comfortable offline as they used to. It's a shame if you ask me. I worry about future generations who have grown up with text messaging and will develop no social skills...

On a typical Friday night I am

watching a movie or having dinner with friends. If I'm doing neither of those then I'm being lame at home either reading in my pjs or going for a late night walk.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm a horrible cook. I try and try and try again and I still can't turn out anything worthwhile.

You should message me if

... I'm not sure. What triggers people to respond to a photo at a glance? Message me if you enjoy a good glass of wine and can hold an interesting conversation.

More importantly, message me if you actually want to meet up in person at some point. I'm finding a lot of guys here just want to email back and forth, but I get enough emails everyday. Craving the offline interaction.

Ok, so I hope I've written enough because that's all I got right now...
