I'm poly, have been for a long while. I'm genderqueer, and still figuring out how.

Moving back to Philadelphia, mostly to be nearer family, after 10 years in (greater) Boston. Figuring out what's going on in West Philly.

Writing free software. Teaching science and assorted tech with a local non-profit. Learning to draft clothing patterns, and hopefully making some clothing I actually like wearing.

Making pretty graphs. Taking things apart ("You didn't want all those screws, did you?").

The red hair? Maybe not; lately folks are more likely to comment that I have green hair.

My favorite comments are about wearing black---deductions range from "you must be an anarchist" to "you must be an architect."

Sometimes I think I like cooking more than actually eating. I bake, I brew, and I make a pretty good vegan alfredo. Favorites? The beer should be something dark, and the food should have potatos and plenty of cumin.

I'm sure I give different answers about favorite books depending on mood.

How Buildings Learn: Buildings as reflections of human behavior, with a dose of physics. Probably the book that convinced me to study architecture.

Gender. I have a long-running search for ways to be decorative that work with my body. Some days I wonder how other people see gender, and whether anything I do is read the way I want. Other times I just want to find a few friends who appreciate how I queer it up.

Energy use in houses. Climate change. How to communicate the opportunity for a cleaner, healthier technology, rather than the doom and despair version.

How to get more people excited about science and engineering. How to get people to treat engineering as play, and also to take their play seriously.

Cooking dinner at home. But I'm not actually commited to being boring every week.
