My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Recently moved back to Chicago after living in Minneapolis and Los Angeles.
I'm excited to discover what's new and what's changed here in the area since I left. I like being active - whether it's just taking my dog for a long walk or training for a half marathon.
I'm the kind of girl who's always taking chances - sometimes it works, sometimes it fails miserably, but at least I know I tried. It's all about the journey - not the destination - and my journey's been pretty cool so far. I'd love to have someone in my life to make it all a bit more special, though.
I'm not one of those girls who's looking for someone to "complete me" - more like someone who helps me be the best version of myself. While I can certainly take care of myself (fix a flat tire, hang a picture, make small repairs around the house), I'd like to let someone else do the driving from time to time...
I'm much more of a "take the unbeaten path" kind of person than a "get there as quickly as possible" one. I love road trips and am always up for checking out something new - either here in town or any place a full tank of gas (or more) will get me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Back in Chicago working in advertising again - reconnecting with old friends and making new ones.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
making people feel comfortable. I have a very unassuming nature that puts people at ease. I also have a very dry sense of humor and can be a bit of a smart-ass from time to time...
The first things people usually notice about me

I love to read but right now I don't have much time for it, unfortunately. I try to read at least 10 pages of a good book every night - right now, I'm finishing "The Slight Edge" by Jeff Olson. Gotta say it's changed my life... Also working on" The Untethered Soul", which has been incredibly thought-provoking. Next up is "The Happiness Advantage" by Shawn Achor. I'm learning that it's all about the little things you do each day, not the big stuff.

I'm not much of a "chick flick" movie girl - would rather see an indie or something with a more developed plot line. Love old movies - The Thin Man series, anything with Rogers & Astaire, Cary Grant (especially His Girl Friday). I love witty banter...

Refuse to watch any kind of reality television (for so many reasons...) but I never miss the Daily Show. Jon Stewart is genius!

As for music, I'm a still a KCRW girl - or I make a Genius mix on my iPod (I'm forever amazed by what comes up when I do that).
I'm also a big classic rock girl - especially on the weekends when I'm out and about.

And food? I'm game for just about anything - except pasta (wheat allergy)...
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My dog Ollie, my cameras, my iPhone, my Mac, my running shoes & my friends.
Yes, I know air & water and whatnot are important, too...
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why this process has to be so difficult... and why we're all looking for the outwardly "perfect" person, instead of the person who's perfect for us.

Oh - and why the goatee hasn't run its course...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Tired from my week - but ready for a drink!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You've read this far - and you have at least one photo in your profile that isn't you shirtless in front of your bathroom mirror (seriously - just ask a friend to snap a few pics of you...).
You've spent some time & thought filling out your profile. The whole, "I'm an open book, just ask me" doesn't give a good idea of the type of person you are... Witty - bordering on smart-ass - profiles are great, by the way.
And if you're at the point in your life where you want a long-term relationship. My "bar days" are long gone - as are my one-night hookups - and I'm not looking for that.
