My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm into breaking sweats, breaking news, baking bread, and Breakfast at Tiffany's--but I also go for campfires, Concerts on the Square, Colbert, and consonance. Everything in moderation.

**In July I'll be taking a year-long hiatus in Honduras to do some volunteer teaching. I'll be leaving a job in the TV news biz of writing scripts and putting question marks in Ron Burgundy's teleprompter. Not looking for anything serious right now, unless by serious you mean passionate games of Bananagrams.

Other than that, I pay way too many overdue library fines, read way too many books at once, and sometimes run way too far for no good reason. I drink coffee from a Shakespeare insult mug. I read books to kids and sometimes get to watch Matilda with them. Life is good.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Making TV newscasts look pretty while trying to learn Spanish using a combination of MATC classes, Pablo Neruda's poetry, and watching Casa De Mi Padre with Spanish subtitles endlessly. Also slowly developing super powers.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Falling off fake rocks at Boulder's, burning marshmallows, xenophilia, Egyptian Ratscrew, and exercising l'esprit d'escalier.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Music: Folk/soul/bluesy stuff (Ryan Montbleau, Paul Simon, Sam Cooke, Vienna Teng, Sister Sparrow, Laura Marling, Melody Gardot, Shook Twins, Robert Johnson, Norah Jones, Regina Spektor...) and jazz (Zoot Sims, Django Reinhardt, Dave Brubeck, Lester Young, Bill Evans, Gershwin, Chet Baker, Hank Mobley, Nat King Cole, Billie Holiday, etc), bluegrass, and other bizarrely amazing stuff (Tom Waits, Gogol Bordello, Moondog, things Garrison Keillor says)

TV: Daily Show, Arrested Development, Twin Peaks, The West Wing, Daria

Movies: Everything from Tarantino, Hitchcock, and Lynch to Amelie, Woody Allen and Wes Anderson. Greatest smart movie of all-time: "His Girl Friday." Greatest dumb movie of all-time: "The Room.'

Books: Currently tackling about 3 Spanish language books including "Charlie y la Fabrica de Chocolate." Willy Wonka is a badass in any language. Other recent favorites include "Pale Fire" and shorts from Sloane Crosley & Lorrie Moore. You can never go wrong with Dickens, Faulkner, Vowell, Shakespeare, and Tom Robbins.

What could my favorite food possibly have to do with our chemistry?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Is it possible to floss so long and hard I'll need finger amputations?

Also, what goes through the mind of Nicolas Cage?

How did "whangdoodle" get in the dictionary? Seriously.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
"He ido mercando con cruces de fuego el atlas blanco de tu cuerpo." The great thing about Pablo Neruda's poetry is you never know if he's fantasizing about a beautiful woman or a farm animal.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm deathly afraid of playing air hockey.
