inquisitive, nomadic, and a mystic at heart
My self-summary Propose an edit
Gentle, articulate, imaginative, affectionate, growing, prone to
ponder. Restless and truthful, with crazy dreams and a life-long
crush on strangeness. Freshly back on okcupid.
What I'm doing with my life Propose an edit
Having a nap. Moving. Feeding the two wolves in my heart.
All the wheels in my life ground to a halt simultaneously over
Christmas, and the silence was deafening. I took some time out to
regroup, recuperate, rethink, let go, roll with the current, taste
the clear bright space between 'things'. Gradually, I learned to
inhabit that space. Now, it feels like home. New patterns are
forming, in their own sweet time.
I'm really good at Propose an edit
Coincidences, rambling, finding pennies in the street, expressing
affection, rolling with strange patterns, listening, not playing
mind-games, choosing the less-than-easy path for myself. Nearly
always. Holding myself to superhuman standards that no one else
recognizes.
I've also been told that I give damn good head. 9 out of 10
dentists agree.
The first thing(s) people usually notice about me Propose an edit
The eyes, the hands, the floppy black hat. The hood, the unmatched
socks. The bit of wire that holds my perpetually broken glasses
together.
The six things I could never do without Propose an edit
Coffee and fingerless gloves, a coin to flip, a book in my pocket,
somewhere else to go, the shoggoth that lives in my ashtray cup. I
call him Charlie.
The most private thing I'm willing to admit here Propose an edit
I have a weblog. It's here.

In the past, I've had some luck meeting interesting, nay even quite
remarkable people off this site. In their time, two of them have
become lovers. At the moment, however, I am quite happily busied
with my affairs, conducting my life, and I'm not really 'seeking'
anything per se - though I do remain open to new things that may
come my way. Which they often do, precisely when you least expect
them, when you think you don't need them.
[UPDATE: alas, at least until Christmas, the above is more true
than it was when I wrote it. the bit about 'not really looking',
that is. work absorbs me so much my family and friends wonder if
I'm dead. if I don't reply to your message, don't take
offense.]
In general, I am usually in the market for interesting people to go
on missions with, explore nooks and crannies, find random things in
the street, drink coffee at strange hours, watch movies that no one
else likes, mess around in an amusing manner, talk about stuff,
find out what makes another person tick.
I've always had a soft spot for fey, gentle, otherworldly
creatures. Random, quirky, colourful, affectionate, tactile, lithe,
self-aware are all good, as is a taste for monster movies, social
theory, highly specialised pillowtalk, late hours, ghosts, gaming,
oddball dreams, oracles, watching movies in bed, small woodland
animals, japanese pop culture, morbidity, general strangeness yon
and sundry. The less you resemble others, the better.
