My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Some things I love: the view from the bridge over the Connecticut River, past and future friends, food (especially the free variety), bicycling, clouds, clouds again, live music and dancing (I'm good at dancing near people but not really with people), pretty much everything outside, the movie Bottle Rocket, any book by Kurt Vonnegut or Haruki Murakami.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I have a master's degree in Geology and I'm currently working as a dog walker, looking towards a career in science outreach or teaching. It's really interesting to me when people know exactly what they want to do with life because I've never had much of a clue myself, probably because I have too many interests to commit to one. I want to enjoy myself and help others do the same. Spread some love and alleviate some of the pain of being an animal.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
jokes
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have big glasses. Sometimes people stare and I have to say, "Hey buddy, my eyes are back here."

I oscillate between trying to look cute and wildly disregarding aesthetics. I don't love that looks are important to you and me and I don't have many mirrors because I'd just rather be thinking about more important things than the shape of my eyebrows. On the other hand, as a friend put it when I told him I didn't like drawing attention to my looks, "It's hard not to when you are light-reflecting object." I think he is onto something.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Vonnegut, LeGuin, Murakami, Brautigan and Calvino are my favorites. Also I love A Confederacy of Dunces, have read it a couple times, highly recommend it.

I love almost all food. I'm not a picky eater. I really love high quality food, cooking, and being cooked for.

Music is wonderful and I like most of it and I like to dance to it. Recent favorites are Home Body, Who'da funk it?, Miike Snow, Lykke Li, Florence and the Machine, Of Monsters and Men.

I like artsy movies, comedies, sci-fi. I'm pretty sad Pleasant St. shut down.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
My glasses,
reading,
swimming (in natural bodies of water),
laughter,
counting,
lists.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to be somebody I like hanging out with because you spend your whole damn life with yourself. How to buy less stuff and fewer stuffs. Fractals. Art projects and performance pieces that rarely come to fruition. How to convey to motorists that they need to give cyclists more room.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
pshhhh.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I haven't owned a razor since I was 15.
