My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hey, my name is Renee. I just moved to Atlanta and I've never been to this area before. I'm originally from Chicago but most recently I lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin- an amazing city.

I'm looking to meet some new people and some cool places in the area. I am totally unfamiliar with Atlanta...Soooo... I want someone to join me and/or show me where its at!

I am pretty funny or at the very least VERY GOOFY (I used to do improv in chicago). I love laughing in general- whether it be at myself; while others laugh at me, or just the simple formula of making others laugh. I can be very outgoing, although at first meeting I might be uber nerdy and giggly (refer to the most private thing I am willing to admit section)... but I warm up quickly! I get along with pretty much everyone and I enjoy a good time, no matter what it is: a museum, a movie or a concert or hitting up a local watering hole. So hit me up if you want to show me around or join me in taking on new ATL adventures.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am lucky to say that I am in my dream job with Aveda- an environmental beauty care brand. I've been with the company 7 years and I just got promoted to regional education manager (I feel like Dwight Schrute saying this lol). I travel weekly as I'm overseeing 27 stores in the southeast territory. In addition to working and traveling with Aveda, I do freelance makeup and (once upon a time) some plus-size modeling and I'd love to do that again (anybody need any plus-size models? lol). I loved when I was in an improv comedy group in Chicago and I would love to do that again here. The only problem is a) my schedule is crazy and b) I am shy when it comes to auditioning. I mean if you think about it, improv is a team sport but to get on a team its a solo audition...ugh my hands get clammy just thinking about it!!! I need to grow some bigger balls (metaphorically speaking). Anyways, I will be playing that by ear. I like going out with my friends and co-workers and just enjoying all that this life has to offer. These past few years I have gone through a lot of changes and grown up in ways I never imagined, and as I have done so, I am trying to change the paradigm of what I want vs what I need. Its a process, but a cool one if nothing else. Most importantly- I am proud pet mama- I love spending time with my little nugget Pierre (he's a miniature dachshund...tiny legs-big personality), he's ridiculous, but there's nothing like coming home to him after a long week of traveling for work.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being selfless (too much so at times...that is one of my greatest strengths & down falls) Making people laugh and feel good. Makeup, spending money on things I shouldn't, laughing, dancing like an idiot, making themed playlists, random knowledge that I didn't even know I possessed until the moment I answer a trivia question correctly, being happy regardless of what's going on around me and really, really politically incorrect asian nail lady accents.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Thats hard to say- could be a number of things: My glasses and/or eyes, my hair (I work in the beauty industry), my tattoos (I have a half sleeve) or my charming personality haha... I have also been told more times than I can count that I am much friendlier than I look...apparently I look "intimidating" or "mean" which is hilarious- because I am a big dork. I'm just a big ol' ecclectic, alternative nerd who's vivacious and loves life.

The black ladies of Atlanta love my red hair. Hahaha
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I am pretty eclectic in my tastes. I'll try anything once.
I mean I didn't get this curvaceous shape eating celery sticks hahaha!

Pizza (typically NY style is a favorite)
Portillos (chicago hot dogs!)
Bread and Butter...sometimes simple can be sooo damn good

I don't read as much as I would like to, however, I just bought a book of Edgar Allan Poe's best stories, I am hoping to motivate myself with that; I love the feel and smell of new books. I love Catcher in the Rye, The Little Prince, The Perks of Being a Wallflower and I like girly novels, whatever, I am a girl. I'm allowed. so lay off... :) I like being cultured, but I reserve the right to a mindless read every now and then.

Dexter, The Walking Dead, American Horror Story (this season...WTF?!), Parks and Rec, New Girl, Fringe, Face Off, Kitchen Nightmares, Curb Your Enthusiasm, The Office (UK and American), True Blood, Little Britain, Aqua Teen Hunger Force, Arrested Development, Man vs Food, No Reservations, Robot Chicken, and the list goes on and on.

Too Long to get into...
But basically it varies between two moods (as sighted below)

An upbeat mix of Kid Sister, Passion Pit, Little Boots, Datarock, Cut Copy, Men and Women, Professor Murder, Goldfrapp, The Black Ghosts, Black Kids, Brazilian Girls, Chromeo, American Teen, Fiest, LCD Soundsystem, MGMT, Phoenix, Walter Meego, Florence + the Machine, The XX, Sia, The Detroit Cobras, Miike Snow, Calvin Harris, Miami Horror, Foster the People, Kimbra, Deee-Lite (oh hells yea), La Roux, Pharrell, Ellie Goulding, Operator Please, Two Door Cinema Club, Walk the Moon, MSTRKRFT and Santo Gold

And a chill mix- now that its fall I'm really starting to get back into what I like to call "makeout music" hahaha. I don't have to be making out with someone when I listen to it- but that's what this sort of music makes me think of:

Milo Greene, The Head and the Heart, American Analog Set, Band of Horses, Death cab, As Tall As Lions, Phoenix, Coldplay (their earlier stuff), Grizzly Bear, Mayer Hawthorne, Temper Trap, Walk the Moon, Leagues, Kings of Convenience, Damien Rice, Badly Drawn Boy, Jose Gonzalez, Sia...and so on and so forth.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Music, makeup (it's not a vanity thing, its a creative outlet for me), brightly colored sneakers (I am up to 75 pairs-just bought an amazing pair of seafoam green limited edition vans and I'm in love with them), laughter, my friends/family, and my wiener dog, Pierre.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Why can't I find a good Bloody Mary in ATL?
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dancing my cares away, going to a fun bar or restaurant, going to a show, relaxing at home or seeing a movie (I LOVE MOVIES!).
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have two 1) I'm REALLY bad at accepting compliments, but still love to get them. 2) I have a great discomfort with public bathrooms (and I travel for work :( )
