I am nomadic, eventful, and suprising.
My Self-Summary
Right now I am homeless. Not in the sense that I have no money and
live on the streets, but I travel for my job and divide my time
between Fiji, Australia, New Zealand, Wisconsin, Texas and
Colorado. Over the past 10 months I have spent the majority living
in tents, bures and campervans. Now that I am finally in the states
I divide my time between Denver and Colorado Springs climbing and
playing outside as much as possible. My passions in life include
climbing,
skiing,
traveling, meeting people
and finding new hobbies.
What I’m doing with my life
I am running international travel programs with high school and
college students. It is the most amazing job I have ever had in my
life and I get to spend the majority of my time on some of the most
beautiful beaches in the world and looking fish in the eyes. During
my time in the states I head back to Colorado, Wisconsin and Texas
where I get to talk with students about our programs and hang out
with old friends. One day I will stop traveling and head back to
grad school, but right now the beaches are just so inviting.
I’m really good at
Sewing quilts, giving advice, calming people down and learning new
hobbies....
Recent activities include:
- teaching archery
- metal work (mostly soft metals for rings)
- manual transmission (I still am horrible at this)
- guitar
- fiddle (had to give this up until I stop moving)
- scuba diving
- drawing
- oneskiing
Soon to be new hobbies
- kite boarding
- skydiving -->(just did first jump in Fiji. more to follow)
The first things people usually notice about me
I am usually talking and in a pretty good mood....
Unless I am picking kids up at the airport in Fiji.... then it's
the fact that I am usually not wearing shoes.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Books: The End of Poverty, Harry Potter (on tape), Cradle to
Cradle, Hydrogen Economy, Fast Food Nation, Z and of Mice and
Men.
Movies: I will watch pretty much anything except for chick flicks
and I love documentaries.
Music: LIVE SHOWS!, Crooked Still, New Shoes, Brother Ali,
Sweatshop Union, O.A.R., Nickel Creek, Shooglenifty, Rocco DeLuca,
Panic! At the Disco Atmosphere and anything that will keep me going
on a run.
Food: Sushi, Thai, Indian and Mexican (In that order)
The six things I could never do without
Other than the obvious family, friends etc...
1. Listening/watching South Park before going to bed. It helps me
sleep and shuts my mind off. Otherwise I will spend at least 2
hours thinking.
2. Random food addictions. For the past 6 months it has been fat
free cottage cheese, but it is turning to yellow peppers
3. Climbing. Though I tend to go on very long stints of not
climbing, I am usually thinking about when I will be able to climb
next.
4. My music and going to see music.
5. Meeting new people.
6. Pen and paper. I have decided that I really enjoy drawing and
even though most of it is henna designs it calms me down when I am
stressed out.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I am sleeping tomorrow and what adventures can be had.
When I will be climbing next.
On a typical Friday night I am
Attempting to find live music, out with friends, meeting new
friends, driving somewhere or watching dollar movies!!!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I don't like sleeping under sheets, only really big blankets.
