I am deep, eccentric, and stylish.
My Self-Summary
I'm an
artist,
carpenter,
DJ,
lab tech and
guru. One of my talents is to create
environments
for people to have
deep and
unique experiences. My
current environment has
indigo walls, recessed bookshelves, a DJ
table made out of the old chimney, a projector mounted in the
ceiling, and a
hall of mirrors. It is important
to me to be surrounded by great
friends,
UV art, fractals and tapestries.
Art is my passion, be
it
music,
painting,
writing,
building, or
dancing. Other hobbies include
reading,
driving,
cooking, lighting
tea-lights,
camping,
sharing,
spirituality,
human evolution,
spontaneous
laughter,
creative movement,
conspiracy
theories and the
evolution of language
What I’m doing with my life
Maintaining a
community of close-knit friends,
working in a
lab doing
DNA research, creating
UV art, and finding
the most incredible
music the world has to offer to put
together in meaningful ways. I have had an incredibly interesting
time on earth so far. and do my best to learn from life and help
others to have meaningful experiences. Spirituality is a key part
of my life, although I do not follow a specific religion, I take
wisdom everywhere I can. Comparative mythology, meditation and
magickal symbolism are subjects which I have studied. I try to keep
up on new technologies, but don't obsess over owning every new
gadget.
I’m really good at
problem
solving and
noticing patterns I'm good at
picking out incredible tracks and putting them together in
meaningful ways. I am proud of my
art; I have 5 large UV pieces completed and
a few smaller ones. I enjoy
remodelling and
building things using
power tools. I'm an
excellent
cook, and
love to cook for people. I have been
dancing for many years, and have my own
fluid style of motion to music. I'd like to think I'm a good
conversationalist, and can
socialize with just about anyone.
The first things people usually notice about me
Red hair, three
small tight
braids
on the front left side of my head. I'm almost always in
motion if there's music
playing, even if its just a little head-bob, but people definitely
notice me when I
dance.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
I have a large
ecclectic collection of
books, and access to an even
larger collection. Some of my favorite books:
Chuck Palahniuk - Fight
Club/Rant (too many good ones to name!)
Dune - Frank Herbert, Atlas Shrugged -
Ayn Rand,
American Gods/Neverwhere/Anansi Boys -
Neil Gaiman, Snow Crash/The Diamond
Age -
Neal
Stephenson
I like
weird movies,
including
Fight
Club,
Donnie Darko,
12 Monkeys,
Minority Report,
Next,
Pulp Fiction,
Snatch,
Fear & Loathing,
Contact,
I Heart
Huckabees,
The Usual Suspects,
Run Lola Run, and
The Red
Violin.
Some of my favorite Directors are
Takashi Miike (Visitor Q, City of
Lost Souls, The Bird People in China, he is a japanese filmmaker),
David Lynch
(Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive),
Jean-Pierre Jeunet (City of
Lost Children, Amelie),
Alejandro Jodorowski
(Holy Mountain, Sante Sangre, El Topo), and
Oliver Stone (Natural Born
Killers, JFK, The Doors)
Music is one of the
most important things in my life. I have a vast music collection of
varying styles from oldies to blazingly cutting edge underground
music. I am a DJ, and I have also made many music compilations to
share with people and take them on journeys. Some of my favorite
genres include
psytrance,
industrial,
downtempo/chill,
dub,
trip-hop,
deep house,
intelligent hip hop,
punk,
funk,
rock and
jazz. While it would be impossible to make
a complete list, some of my favorite artists include: Androcell,
Entheogenic, Fela Kuti, Kula Shaker,
Atom Heart, Amon Tobin, Cinematic
Orchestra,
Shpongle,
Tool,
Coil, ClockDva, Skinny Puppy, Psychic TV,
Dr Octagon,
David
Bowie, Jaga Jazzist.
I am a good
chef, and
love to cook for people. Cooking with someone is even better.
Garlic is very important. I like to add a little spice to
everything, but try not to over-do it. Lawry's Seasoned Salt is
good with anything. I usually cook with meat, but I do respect
vegetarians and can cook without it if necessary. I also enjoy
going to local restaurants occasionally.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
A lot of my time is spent considering current and future art and
building projects, DJ sets and music compilations. I like to
contemplate conspiracy theory, new and future scientific theories,
discoveries and technologies, the state of the world, and what
we're doing to it, both in terms of society and the environment. I
think about spirituality, human interactions, the infinitely small
and the infinitely vast, life before and after death, how to keep
my mind in a well-balanced state. I daydream of future plans, my
incredible past experiences, and how to keep my daily life in
motion to exemplify what I have lived and move me towards what I
want to be.
On a typical Friday night I am
Hanging out with friends, listening to music and having deep
conversations, maybe watching a movie, unless there's a party, then
I'm dancing or DJing. I have varying degrees of socialization.
Sometimes I like sitting by myself and going through music, or
spending an evening with just one other person, other times I enjoy
hanging out with small groups of friends at my or someone else's
house, going to bars, shows, parties and occasional weekend-long
psy-trance camping trips. I enjoy a wide-range of possibilities on
any given Friday night, although Saturday seems to be the more
eventful evening. Friday is mostly winding-down from the work week
for most people.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Everything is true in some sense, false in some sense, and
meaningless in some sense. I've had incredibly positive
experiences, and persevered through some intensely negative
experiences, but I have maintained, and I still know how to laugh.
I have everything that I've ever wanted, but there's still
something missing, and much more to do.
You should message me if
...you appreciate art.
...you'd like new music suggestions.
...you'd like to have coffee, go to see a local band, or come to a
party.
...you'd like to read what I have completed of my novel.
...you think there's hope for the world.
...you're open minded.
