My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I just realized I didn't have my name anywhere on my profile, so let me introduce myself. My name is Gill Bonner, and it's a pleasure to meet you!

I would describe myself as down to earth, smart, and witty, with a pretty big dash of goofy and fun-loving. I've always been a bit of a nerd too.

Lately I've been getting involved with music again. I bought myself a new bass guitar and have been trying to really learn the instrument. I've started playing with a band and I really want to play some local gigs. I think that would be a ton of fun.

I'm a bit of a traveler. I lived in Spain for 2 years and The Netherlands for one when I was younger and have done things like backpacking in Europe for 6 weeks, and I just recently took a trip to Scotland for 10 days. I was born here in Kingsport but I've lived in South Carolina, the aforementioned European nations, Mississippi and Alabama too.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm working at Lowe's and trying to finish an Engineering Technology degree at ETSU.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm pretty good with technology, and don't mind helping my friends out. I'm pretty good at getting a laugh out of people, and I know too much trivia for my own good. I would like I think I'm a decent singer and I'm working to become a better musician. I'm also a fan of sports, most specifically basketball, and am naturally coordinated/athletic, but I'm not a meathead by any stretch. I'm entirely too good at eating too much. I'm also into video games and I'm pretty good at them. I'm not sure if that's something to brag about, but one time I won a free pizza from a video game tournament, so that's cool.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
This is one is kind of hard for me since not everyone tells me what they first notice. I guess maybe, my facial hair? It changes with my mood sometimes. I'll challenge you to tell me what you first notice about me so I'll be able to properly answer this question next time I fill out my profile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I'll go ahead and get this out of the way, but I'm not really a reader. I don't particularly enjoy reading books.

Also, fair warning, I don't watch many movies. When it comes to film, one of my favorite movies is the movie 'Once'. I also loved 'Band of Brothers' and 'Game of Thrones.' Both HBO miniseries that I thought were just incredibly well-made with compelling stories. Also a big fan of the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings movies. Two of my favorite comedies in recent years were 'Dodgeball' and 'Get Smart'. I'm also trying to catch up on Breaking Bad, but I'm dreadfully far behind.

My taste in music is somewhat eclectic. I like a bunch of alt-rock, prog-rock, funk, jazz, dubstep, rap, and other stuff. Some of my favorite artists are The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Primus, Cake, Green Day, The Notorious BIG, Muse, The Mars Volta, Dave Matthews Band, Daft Punk, and Lupe Fiasco. I also play bass guitar, although admittedly not that well yet, and love to make music. Feel free to hit me up if you ever want to jam.

When it comes to food, I love nearly all types of food. I think it is really easier to tell you what foods I don't like instead of which ones I do. I don't like grapefruit, raw olives, beets, artichokes, or haggis.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Good and supportive friends/family
2. Coca-cola
3. A Car
4. The internet
5. Good food
6. My dog, Toby
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Where I am in life, how I got here, and where I'm going. My life track was basically derailed a couple years ago by a fight with clinically diagnosed depression. Thanks to all the support I've had from a lot of people in my life, I think I'm past that stage in my life and in the future will have the tools to not fall into that deep rut again.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Not doing too much. Lately it's just been home playing video games with friends or playing with my band most Fridays. I do work on Fridays and Saturdays, so I don't usually stay out too crazy late. Part of why I'm on here though is trying to find new people to make friends with, so feel free to help me break my normal Friday night schedule to do something awesome.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have bad sleep apnea so I sleep with a cpap machine.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me you are interested in having a good conversation. I'm not great at describing myself without the context of a conversation, so I think we would learn a whole lot more about each other, and have a lot of fun if one of us just takes the initiative and starts up that conversation!
