My self-summary
Fun is my prime directive. Because I say “yes” to interesting experiences that come my way, I've found myself standing among a glorious collection of handlebar mustaches as I sang bass in a barbershop chorus, trying my hardest not to step on strangers’ toes in Argentine Tango dance classes, and buying golf balls in bulk off eBay to make up for the ones I lose on the course.

My match is the kind of person that gets excited about some random quirky topic and drags me along as we dive in discovering more about whatever that item may be. I might find her taking notes on a cooking show with a glimmer in her eye, while I grab my keys for the inevitable trip to the grocery store and try our hand at a gloriously complicated French masterpiece, and she has been known to utter, “That was fun, let’s do it again!” on multiple occasions.
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally my time is spent helping protect my company against hackers by pointing out all the problems they have in their web applications. I actually really love my job; it consists of a healthy mixture of day to day activities, web application security is a moving target resulting in constantly having to figure things out, and I get to work from home three days a week which is amazing.

Outside of work, I protect myself from boredom by seeking out enriching activities. I enjoy going to live shows and special events and am particularly fond of playing board games. There is a whole world of fascinating games that are easy to play and more enjoyable then the Monopoly and Life that we all grew up with. Tell me a bit about yourself and I'd be happy to recommend a game for you to try, or even better, teach it to you in person!
I’m really good at
I've always had a knack for understanding what other people are thinking, there is something about their various shrugs and facial expressions that I'm able to condense down into words. In high school I was the go to guy for talking through things as I often would help someone understand what they were thinking just by listening to them and describing it back to them and later in life, in my job, this has served me well as communicating with and understanding various people is the crux of my position. This tends to help out in most of my hobbies too, for example, I am an exemplary game explainer!
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m the guy smiling and having a good time. If you’ve caught my eye, I’m probably also the guy inviting you to join in on whatever fun is happening. I’ve also been told I smell great, so yay hygiene!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music I pretty much like it all, although I'm not wild about country. I enjoy music in general, and as a result, tend to like the best examples of any given genre.

Movies I used to be a bit more of a movie snob then I am now. I love movies of all kinds, but typically my favorites are outside the norm. The latest horror flick is a good excuse to cuddle and all, but give me an artistic, well performed drama that has underlying complexity and intelligence to it and causes you to walk out of the theatre feeling like you had witnessed something moving and incredible any day. That being said, sometimes it’s hard to beat a well-timed fart joke.

Books I enjoy reading very much, and always have a book I’m working on, but I’m an annoyingly slow reader, so I tend to wait until someone has personally recommended a book to me before I will devote any attention to it. In terms of different genres, I think great books tend to rise above their specific genres, great writing, good characters, a fascinating plot, etc. These things can just as easily happen in the streets of New York as they can in the halls of Hogwarts. If forced to pick, I tend towards sci-fi and fantasy.

Foods I am definitely not a picky eater. One of my favorite things about when I used to travel extensively for work was all the opportunities to experience new and different cuisines, and I generally liked everything I tried. Alton Brown is one of my personal heroes.
The six things I could never do without
- Intellectual Stimulation
- Companionship
- Purpose
- Hurdles and Triumphs
- Good Food
- People to play games with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Too many things, it changes with every passing moment. Currently: I'm still settling in to a new house, ... what project will come up next, my profiles always end up too long, I wonder what I will do with my day tomorrow, what hobby du jour will grab my attention next and whether it will last, what's life mean anyways, why haven't I been listening to music in a while and the old me would be disappointed, come to think of it, what would the old me say to the current me, and all the rest of it.
On a typical Friday night I am
Gathering up friends for a movie night, game night, or other event.

Ballroom dancing. (Want to tango?) I would love to find a dance partner who would be available to practice on a regular basis. As a bonus, if said person was available, I would pay for all formal lessons we took. Mostly I really just want someone I can practice with, not necessarily as a date or anything romantic, but simply to better my dancing abilities so that I'm not just learning when I'm in class.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I may or may not have recently hired a maid service to keep my house clean and I love it. (Don't tell my mother, she'd be mortified.)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–38
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
You enjoy having fun! I'm not just looking for dates, I'd also love to build my network of cool people in the Indianapolis area to invite over for game nights, or meet up with at some local event. Are you intelligent? Opinionated? Independent? A bit stubborn? We'd get along swimmingly.

Looking “silly" has never stopped you from doing anything.

As I've mentioned before, I love board games, if you want to peek behind the curtain and see how deep the rabbit hole goes, tell me about what games you have enjoyed and we can go from there.

And finally, I'm still relatively new to the Indianapolis area, so please, message me and tell me about what your favorite things to do around this town consist of. Any favorite restaurants? Bars? Fun activities? Let me know about them!
