My self-summary
I write long profiles. If that isn't your thing, here's the TLDR version: Stable, happy guy looking to go on adventures with new people and possibly develop things into more. I value intelligence, open mindedness, honesty and independence.

On to the rest of the profile ;)

Because I say “yes” to interesting experiences that come my way, I've found myself standing among a glorious collection of handlebar mustaches as I sang bass in a barbershop chorus, trying my hardest not to step on strangers’ toes in Argentine Tango dance classes, and frequently burning myself as I pursue my various glassblowing masterpieces (more like awkward Fisher-Price-like tumblers, but everyone has to start somewhere). Suffice to say, I enjoy trying new things, and would love to have a partner in crime who joined in on those fun new experiences.

I have this habit of buying tickets to things and just trusting that I will find someone to bring along to enjoy the show. Come be my plus one, I promise I will do my best to make it worth your while. Similarly, it would be great to be with someone who was also seeking out fun things to do, I will happily be your plus one in return.

I'm in a place in my life where everything is fantastic, I just need someone to share more of it with; someone to laugh with, someone to surprise and keep on their toes, someone that can be playful and who gets excited about life. Ideally I'm looking for someone that I can be good friends with and that will lead to a connected and satisfying committed relationship, but don't worry, I realize these things don't happen over night.

My match is the kind of person that gets excited about some random topic and brings me along for the ride. I might find her taking notes on a cooking show with a glimmer in her eye, while I grab my keys for the inevitable trip to the grocery store. She has been known to utter, “That was fun, let’s do it again!” on multiple occasions.

In the last year and a half I've started to take my health much more seriously and it has been wonderful. I would appreciate someone that enjoys an active lifestyle. If you love biking, golf, hiking, other active outdoor things, that would be great!
What I’m doing with my life
Professionally my time is spent helping protect my company against hackers by pointing out all the problems they have in their web applications. I actually really love my job; it consists of a healthy mixture of day to day activities, web application security is a moving target resulting in constantly having to figure things out, and I get to work from home three days a week which is amazing.

Outside of work, I protect myself from boredom by seeking out enriching activities. I enjoy going to live shows and special events and am particularly fond of playing board games. There is a whole world of fascinating games that are easy to play and more enjoyable then the Monopoly and Life that we all grew up with. Tell me a bit about yourself and I'd be happy to recommend a game for you to try, or even better, teach it to you in person!
I’m really good at
I've always had a knack for understanding what other people are thinking, there is something about their various shrugs and facial expressions that I'm able to condense down into words. In high school I was the go to guy for talking through things as I often would help someone understand what they were thinking just by listening to them and describing it back to them, I think it's served me well.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m the guy smiling and having a good time. If you’ve caught my eye, I’m probably also the guy inviting you to join in on whatever fun is happening. I’ve also been told I smell great, so yay hygiene!
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Music I pretty much like it all, although I'm not wild about country. I enjoy music in general, and as a result, tend to like the best examples of any given genre.

Movies I used to be a bit more of a movie snob then I am now. I love movies of all kinds, but typically my favorites are outside the norm. The latest horror flick is a good excuse to cuddle and all, but give me an artistic, well performed drama that has underlying complexity and intelligence to it and causes you to walk out of the theatre feeling like you had witnessed something moving and incredible any day. That being said, sometimes it’s hard to beat a well-timed fart joke.

Books I enjoy reading very much, and always have a book I’m working on, but I’m an annoyingly slow reader, so I tend to wait until someone has personally recommended a book to me before I will devote any attention to it. In terms of different genres, I think great books tend to rise above their specific genres, great writing, good characters, a fascinating plot, etc. These things can just as easily happen in the streets of New York as they can in the halls of Hogwarts. If forced to pick, I tend towards sci-fi and fantasy.

Foods I am definitely not a picky eater. One of my favorite things about when I used to travel extensively for work was all the opportunities to experience new and different cuisines, and I generally liked everything I tried. Alton Brown is one of my personal heroes.
The six things I could never do without
- Intellectual Stimulation
- Companionship
- Purpose
- Hurdles and Triumphs
- Good Food
- People to play games with
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Too many things, it changes with every passing moment. Currently: I recently started trying out glass blowing and it has been really fascinating. Also, I've only managed to burn myself like twice in three lessons, so I feel like I'm ahead of the game already. I've only taken a few lessons so far, but I already find myself thinking about the different ways to manipulate the glass, how to make things more consistently, how I can use color, what sort of things I might be able to make for my friends and family and various other related topics.

Ever-present thoughts include ... what project will come up next, my profiles always end up too long, I wonder what I will do with my day tomorrow, what hobby du jour will grab my attention next and whether it will last, why haven't I been listening to music in a while and the old me would be disappointed, come to think of it, what would the old me say to the current me, and all the rest of it.

Another recent thought: I started paying more attention to the part of people's profile where other similar users are shown and it says something about each user like "More spiritual" or "less organized." I noticed that "more adventurous" seems to be a catch all, almost every single person has people listed that are "more adventurous." So I started following the "more adventurous" people, always clicking on one that was more adventurous then the last, until I found myself in an adventure seeking loop with two women who were both listed as "more adventurous" then the other. What's the deal OKC?
On a typical Friday night I am
Gathering up friends for a movie night, game night, or other event.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I may or may not have recently hired a maid service to keep my house clean and I love it. (Don't tell my mother, she'd be mortified.)
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–38
  • Near me
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You enjoy having fun! I'm not just looking for dates, I'd also love to build my network of cool people in the Indianapolis area to invite over for game nights, or meet up with at some local event. Are you intelligent? Opinionated? Independent? A bit stubborn? We'd get along swimmingly.

Looking “silly" has never stopped you from doing anything.

As I've mentioned before, I love board games. There is a whole world of fun, interesting, easy to play, rewarding games that many people don't know about, if you want to peek behind the curtain and see how deep the rabbit hole goes, tell me me a bit about yourself and I'll recommend some games for you to check out, or if you are local, I can teach them to you!

If you are a MBMBaM fan, we need to be friends.

And finally, I've lived in Indianapolis for about 2 years now, and I'm sure that I haven't even scratched the surface of the cool things that are in this area, so please, message me and tell me about what your favorite things to do around this town consist of. Any favorite restaurants? Bars? Fun activities? Let me know about them!
