My self-summary
"How much do you love me?" she asked. "I was told there'd be no math," he replied.

Give me an IPA and I'll end the night with a dozen new friends and a great story. Pour me a glass of bourbon, and I'll discuss philosophy and politics until the sun comes up. Give me a bottle of water and I'll sail around the world and dive to the bottom of the ocean.

My friends have called me adventurous, reliable, outgoing and loyal. Born and raised in the Pacific Northwest, I bleed green and it calls to me like a ball of yarn calls to a kitten. I explore the city during the week and explore the outdoors on the weekends.

Also for you tallettes, I have a money back guarantee on my height. I am precisely 6'4" (193cm), no more, no less. I hit my head on far too many things to want, much less need, to inflate my height.
What I’m doing with my life
He recoiled from his girlfriend as she went for a hug. It was only natural, she had cooties. They were in the 4th grade after all.

I'm a software engineer but sitting behind a desk isn't my style. I'm going back to get my MBA to further my quest for world domination.

I regularly volunteer at the Academy of Sciences. I mean who doesn't enjoy teaching kids that baby squirrels come from acorns?

I'm always planning trips and in 2013 I visited Turkey, Greece, Australia, New Zealand, and Italy. I also plan annual ski and camping trips for my friends. What remaining time I have is spent swing dancing, scuba diving, sailing, climbing, cycling (or building bikes), backpacking, riding my motorcycle and skiing/snowboarding. I'm always on the move.
I’m really good at
"There'll never be anything between us," she insisted; clearly he was not trying hard enough. It was time for a massive public gesture.

Knowing the difference between African and European swallows. Swinging to Duke Ellington. Not going straight to your pictures when I open your profile. Getting my passport stamped like its going out of style. Listening. Reaching the top shelf where the good stuff is. Dancing in the rain. Taking names and kicking ass. Being a beacon of hope when my friends are lost in a large crowd. Looking dapper in a suit.

Tipping generously. Finding any imaginable excuse to plan an international trip. Getting lost among the stars under a new moon. Sailing into the sunset. Waking up at ungodly hours to hit fresh pow. Getting lost for days on end in the wilderness.

Rocking out to my music in public, because who listens to music that doesn't make them want to move? Giving hugs when you need it most. Using the word 'hella' like it's the 90's. Winging it in the kitchen and making it look (and taste) good. Spending quality time with a smooth whiskey. Taking an hour longer to get home because my motorcycle wanted to stretch its legs.
The first things people usually notice about me
That I am a flight hazard. I have been involved in two midair collisions...

Those pigeons were not cleared for take off.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I basically live off of sushi and lamb. If I must choose one I will choose both. And broccoli. Nothing compliments a meal better than a well steamed head of broccoli. I will and do eat practically anything. My philosophy is that if it exists as a dish, someone must think it tastes good and at the very least it's worth trying.

I'm an NPR junkie so: This American Life, Radio Lab, HBR IdeaCast, Freakonomics, Says You, Marketplace, DecodeDC, All Things Considered, On The Media.

Ender's Game, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, Shakespeare, classical literature, David McCullough, Calvin and Hobbes, Calvin, and Hobbes. I have an ever growing hardcover collection because why not?

The Newsroom, Archer, The Colbert Report, Doctor Who, Top Gear, 30 Rock, South Park, Louis CK, BBC Documentaries, Cirque du Soleil (doesn't really belong here but whatever)

My current playlist is titled "Random." I've been told I couldn't've named it better. My tastes span as far and as wide as America's waist line.
The six things I could never do without
• The Ocean I can and always will love and respect the ocean. I scuba dive, sail, swim and row. It's also tried to kill me twice.
• The Outdoors because it is spectacularly beautiful.
• My friends Their peer pressure could turn coal to diamonds. The result usually isn't quite as pretty, but it sure as hell is hilarious.
• My Motorcycle/bicycle With the open road stretched before me, I'll see you when the sun goes down.
• A little booklet where I collect stamps to prove I've seen and learned something new. You know, those booklets we got on museum field trips in grade school. Well, that and my passport.
• Diving into clear tropical waters It's a whole 'nother world down there, except I can't breathe.
On a typical Friday night I am
Relaxing with some equally sophisticated savants of life. We oft discuss the fascinating plot development of Monty Python and the myriad implications it has on socio-economic policies.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I still visit my high school teachers after 9 years because they brainwashed me so well... I mean because of the impact they had on my life.

I've nearly had a SWAT team sent after me.
