My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was born and raised in Chicago, but I spent a decade in San Francisco, and now I just passed my third year in LA. I'm still an easy-going Midwesterner at heart, but the sunshine here suits me, and the lack of humidity is something I greatly appreciate. That said, anywhere that I can have an al fresco dinner on New Years Eve while wearing a short sleeve shirt is okay in my book. Besides, having to shovel your car out of a snowbank at 7am is highly overrated.

I'm a menswear designer, which means I have more fabric in my house than I know what do do with, but to paraphrase Mr. Hunter Thompson, once you get locked into a serious fabric collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can. I've been designing for other people, but I'm currently in the process of setting up my own business. LA has got my hustle working overtime.

Aside from fashion, I'm heavily involved in photography (both shooting and collecting), and I find never-ending sources of inspiration in film, fine art, architecture, and design (type, graphic, interior, and industrial). Bookstores with design sections are my kryptonite, and lavishly printed oversize magazines are (admittedly) an addiction. What can I say? I'm a Taurus. We like nice shit.

In addition to my day job, I also make and play music for people to dance to.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Making it in time. Making it happen. Making sure not to get stuck in traffic.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Powersliding my shopping cart around oblique corners in Trader Joes. Threading industrial sergers. Finding the perfect image. Reading the lines between the lines. Tying knots around things. Choosing the right frame. Folding my laundry just so. Listening.

BOOKS
Yes! Books are good. I like them. Currently reading: "Guns, Germs, and Steel" by Jared Diamond.

MOVIES
City Of God, Donnie Darko, Fight Club, Moon, Apocalypse Now, Big Trouble In Little China, Manufactured Landscapes, The Thin Red Line, Secretary, Grosse Pointe Blank, The Birdcage, Paris Is Burning.

MUSIC
This is by no means inclusive, but rather a list of what's doing it for me lately: Jungle, Machinedrum, Darkside, Mount Kimbie, Beacon, Cortney Tidwell, Widowspeak, Unwound, Special Request, Fugazi, Beach Fossils, Wild Nothing, Slowdive, Boards of Canada, HTRK, Tropic of Cancer.

Addendum: I'm also an ex-punk rocker, but I still hold a lot of the music and ideals close to my heart. If you ever made a fanzine when you were a teenager, (or stood on the side of the stage with a camera, or had a distro table at shows) we'll probably get along like a house on fire.

FOOD
Japanese, Mexican, Thai, and Vietnamese are all-time favorites, but even though I'm a breakfast man at heart (with a serious hankering for good hollandaise), I'm really up for anything and everything.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to better utilize Occam's Razor in everyday life. How I can spend more time in the sunshine. When I can get up to the mountains next. How to make better ideas come out of my head. Where I want to go next. What I want for lunch.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out at dinner with friends, checking out a show, or decompressing at home with an adult beverage and a some new music on the turntable.

You're rad and you're looking for a serious connection with someone based on creativity and mutual awesomeness. Ideally, you know who you are and what you want out of life, and would appreciate a guy who notices all the rad things about you that everyone else seems to miss.
