I moved back to Wisconsin from Nashville, TN when my marriage ended. I live with my best friend from high school and her two FANTASTIC boys, who have graciously adopted me and call me Auntie Becs (my name is Becca). We are the definition of a modern American family.
I'm a hippie who believes in the value of good hygiene and great fashion. I'm a fanatical animal lover, but I have to change the channel when those ASPCA commercials come on (you know - the ones with the sad-voiced narrator that show all the lonely, huge-eyed animals in cages?). They make me cry. They also fill me with a compulsion to adopt so many pet that I would end up on an episode of Animal Hoarders.
I'm open-minded, intelligent and fun. I don't take things too seriously. . .unless they are, in fact, serious subjects. I love making pottery and desperately miss all the studio stuff I had to leave behind in TN (but will go back for ASAP) I play the guitar (badly). I sing and write music (much better than I play guitar). I cook, I garden, I draw, and I know how to put stuff together with a power drill.
I like to hike, swim, and camp. I love boating. I can steer any canoe into low hanging trees, but you'll have a blast while I do it. I'd like to get back into skiing. . . not much of that going on in Tennessee. I'm open to trying new things and outdoor activities appeal to me a lot. I know enough about guns to not not be a danger to myself or others, but would love to learn to shoot.
I joined this site to meet new people, go out and have some fun after a long marriage of. . .not having fun. I'm open and honest and I HATE petty games. I love talking to people and getting to know them (my psychology degree comes in handy here).
When I grow up I want to run an organic vegetable farm and make & sell my pottery as well as foodstuffs from said farm (jams, sauces, cheese, butter and eggs).
