My self-summary
I'm looking for someone with whom I can laugh and have fun.

Now I suppose it's time for me to pique your interest with a witty profile mentioning my many merits. Here's the thing, though. I'm not all that keen on describing my hopes and dreams to everyone under the sun, nor am I comfortable with blatant self-promotion. So here I am.

I am a genuine and affable man. I am physically fit. Extroverted but sometimes on the quiet side, I have a quick wit and a playful nature. Did I mention that I am tall? When you meet me, you'll see that I have a tremendous capacity to listen, to think about what you have to say, and to respond. And, well, at some point you will probably discover that I can be really romantic.

I enjoy being active. I *love* going to the gym. I'm convinced that spinning class is the solution to nearly any problem.

What kind of person best suits me? I hope to meet someone who is uncommonly kind, intelligent, cheerful, considerate, warm hearted, funny, affectionate, resilient, and active. I look forward to meeting you.

If you are interested in a man who can handle life with grace and good humor, then you should get to know me.
What I’m doing with my life
I have my own law practice. To satisfy my soul, I work as a special education advocate for children with special needs. To help to pay the bills, I also work for mutual funds.
I’m really good at
The first things people usually notice about me
Well, being 6'4" means people usually notice that I'm tall. I find life inherently funny, so people often notice that I laugh a lot. People seem to like my eyes...
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read a lot. I am currently reading The Goldfinch. I recently read The Power of Less by Leo Babauta. I loved the book's focus on achieving true simplicity in one's life and, as the subtitle says, "limiting yourself to the essential in life".

Other favorites: anything by Carl Hiaasen, Robertson Davies, or Michael Connelly. Cold Mountain, The Art of Fielding, Saturday, The Kite Runner, Pillars of the Earth, and High Fidelity (if you loved High Fidelity, you will almost certainly like me).

I love music. SO many favorite artists: Mary J. Blige, Michael Franti and Spearhead, Stevie Wonder (feel free to tell me your favorite Stevie Wonder song), Rihanna (pop music is incredibly good these days), Ne-Yo, Usher, Bebel Gilberto, Pitbull, Neon Trees, Lucinda Williams, Maxwell, Anjulie, Everything But the Girl, Dawes, Al Green, Mayer Hawthorne, Coralie Clement, Django Reinhardt, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and Jim Hall. I also love Brazilian music , including, of course, Antonio Carlos Jobim, Caetano Veloso, and Elis Regina. My favorite radio stations include WXPN, WIOQ, WRTI, and WDAS.

Movies: I love funny movies, such as the various Christopher Guest movies (if you like This is Spinal Tap, we are likely to get along very well), Bridesmaids, and (almost) any Will Ferrell movie. I also like dreamlike movies with ambiguous endings, such as Picnic at Hanging Rock, Black Swan, and Hereafter. Other favorites include: 500 Days of Summer, About a Boy, Bend it Like Beckham, Billy Elliot, Hunger Games, and Shall We Dance (the original Japanese version).
The six things I could never do without
OK, I realize that this is my shot to sound deep and say that I couldn't live without "compassion" or "love" or "world peace" but honestly I'm not that profound. Here are two things I could never do without: my kids and my gym membership.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I spend a lot of time thinking about how to simplify my life so that I don't get entangled in commitments, people, and objects that add no value to my life.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Please. Like I'd cop to anything on the internet.
