My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
UPDATE: I am off the market as of today - 12/08/2014, but I wish everyone the best of luck in their search. Merry Christmas, Happy New Year, and remember that "...In the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make." Go out there and SHARE YOUR LOVE without worrying or looking back. When it's right, that person will follow you of their own free will. (And if they don't, remember that it's their loss!) Blessings!

I want to find someone sweet to spend time with and share adventures. Please be relatively local to me, as long-distance relationships are very hard to maintain.

For fun I enjoy concerts, Disneyland, road trips, going out to eat, swimming, walking, watching sunsets, and spending time near the ocean, the mountains, and the desert. I love stormy weather (rain, wind, and thunder), but I enjoy sunny days, as well.

I sing and play guitar and I've been told many times that I give a great massage, as well (not at all at the same time though - lol).

l am good about listening to your problems and offering advice if you need it.

I am well-mannered and I strive to be courteous and respectful.

I communicate well in a relationship and have a patient and forgiving nature.

I want to find someone similar to myself who appreciates and values what I have to offer.

I have a philosophical mind and a poetic nature, but I am not stuffy or pompous about it.

If you want to know a decent guy with a good heart, then you've come to the right place.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am college-educated with a degree in English (Creative Writing). I am proud to say that by developing different revenue streams I have managed to avoid the "rat race." It's a rather bohemian lifestyle, but I love my freedom. (And yes, I have a vehicle and my own apartment).

I am proud to say that my Halloween and Haunted Mansion-inspired artwork was recently showcased at the WonderGround Gallery in Downtown Disney, which was a dream come true for this artist. I am currently working on new characters which will be unveiled there this fall.

Currently, I have started working out and going to the gym. It's not easy, but nothing worthwhile in life is. I am pleased with the results so far and enjoying the feeling of self-improvement.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I have little fear of public speaking and I am also a fairly competent musician and singer. I play songs from the 60s and 70s and I can do a really good impression of Neil Young. My John Lennon isn't bad either. I am good with little kids, for they find me friendly and playful. I am not necessarily looking to create any children of my own, but you never know. I love cats and they generally love me back.

I love helping a partner relax with massages. I have been told that I have a strong, yet gentle touch. Emotionally I am not the "aloof" type, nor do I play head games. What you see is what you get.

I strive to be a patient, forgiving, and understanding person, though it is not always easy. I am a firm believer in communication and I look for the good in a partner. Philosophically, I generally see the glass as half-full, but I will not shy away from seeing harsh realities of life either. It's all about balance.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
When I'm performing people often me that they enjoy my singing voice and that I play guitar well. I guess my smile and my eyes get compliments.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
We don't need to be clones here. As long as there is a decent amount of overlap of interests, we can build upon that foundation. And if we are somewhat different, we can enjoy turning each other on to new tastes, sounds, etc. As long as you don't hate the things that I love, we'll probably get along fine.

Foodwise, I like Italian, Mexican, Chinese, Steak, Seafood, some Thai, and some Indian (not spicy though).

Moviewise, I love a good drama or period piece, as well as the classic comedies. My favorite films tend to be older, and from the 60s and 70s, but I like anything that has a good script, an intelligent plot, and a talented cast.

It would take a long time to list all of my favorite films, but if you like I can send you an excel list of all of the DVDs in my collection and you can decide from that.

Bookwise, I like ghost stories and biographies, but if you are passionate about certain authors I will gladly check out some new stuff. I also enjoy books of quotations because they contain concentrated wisdom and life-lessons. Aesop's fables was a childhood favorite that proved quite useful in life. Every kid should have that book!

I love the songs of the 60s and 70s, especially by singer-songwriters like Bob Dylan, John Denver, Paul Simon, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Carole King, Neil Young, etc. The Beatles and Stones are great, as are the Eagles, Simon & Garfunkel, Gram Parsons, and The Flying Burrito Brothers. I saw Bob Seger in 2012 and he was awesome.

I don't care much for modern country, but I appreciate old- school country. I also like some reggae, blues, funk, and Motown. For hard rock, I appreciate Led Zeppelin, Van Halen, the Who, and some Black Sabbath. I am open to hearing the bands that you like, as well. I love classical music. I don't know much about opera or musical theatre, but I would like to learn.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I could learn to do without many things, but I would be bummed if I didn't have:

1) Books (not kindle)
2) My computer
3) My vehicle
4) My guitar
5) Music
6) Movies

Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
On any given night (not just Friday), I enjoy dining out after a nice walk on or near the beach to watch the sunset. I am a movie buff, so I enjoy watching movies often. I am not into the rowdy bar or club scene, but I am not adverse to having a drink at a classy place with quiet music you can actually converse over.
