I am brainy, goofy, and warm.

My Self-Summary

I am, probably first and foremost, a geek girl. Not in the programming goddess sense, but in the roleplaying/computer/internet goddess sense. I'm back in school, working on a degree in web design and development.

I spend far too much time watching things like the Food Network and Mythbusters, and I hatch more plans and plan more projects than anyone could ever possibly complete. Most of the fun is in the planning, after all.

I am open-minded, low-maintenance, and drama-free (except for a love of theatre).

I think a day where I haven't learned something new or considered a new idea or perspective was probably a day wasted. But then, there are so many ways to learn and see things from a new perspective, I can't remember the last time I had a day like that. :)

Regarding the new "body type" option in the profile: It's blank. I know. Look at the picture. If you can't get that I'm fat from the picture, you probably didn't read the body type option on my profile anyway. And if you're filtering searches to only a specific body type, I probably am not that interested in talking to you.

What I’m doing with my life

For the most part, I'm enjoying my life to the fullest. I have the best job ever, working for an organization I believe very strongly in. I like my friends, I like my family and my pets. I enjoy dating and getting to know people, and have met some great people so far from here. :)

Going to school and finishing my bachelor's degree is very important to me, but the speed at which I do so is not. I'm making steady progress, and that's enough for me. I haven't decided yet what I want to do after I finish the degree. Grad school is a possibility I haven't ruled out.

I’m really good at

Cooking. Listening to others. Singing--I sing with a local women's barbershop chorus and hopefully soon with a quartet. I also write (doesn't everyone on here?) and play around with various web monkey tasks. Oh--and I'm pretty good at sudoku. Most puzzles, actually.

The first things people usually notice about me

I have very blue eyes. I am also not a frail and delicate little flower by anyone's standards. ;) I have a big laugh and I'm not afraid to use it.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books: Stephen King's Dark Tower series, Song of Solomon by Toni Morrison, A Tree Grows in Brooklyn by Betty Smith, Wuthering Heights by Emily Bronte, Gut Symmetries by Jeanette Winterson and lots more!

Movies: LOTR trilogy, Singin' in the Rain, Much Ado About Nothing, Gentleman Prefer Blondes--pretty much anything involving Gene Kelly or Kenneth Branagh. And Moulin Rouge. I'm kind of a musical geek. I wish there were more science fiction and fantasy movies on this list, but sadly, most of them are pretty enh.

Music: Everything from classical to Broadway show tunes all the way to the likes of NIN and Rage Against the Machine. The appropriate word here is "eclectic".

Foods: I love Middle Eastern, Indian, and various Italian foods, and I'm learning slowly to cook French.

The six things I could never do without

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Whether or not I spend too much time thinking.

Okay, I know that's very glib, but I'm actually rather serious about that. I can be very analytical at times, particularly about myself, my emotions, and my motivations. While I do occasionally turn that spotlight on to others as well, I swear I won't psychoanalyze you--that level of analysis I save for myself--hence the wondering if I spend too much time thinking. ;)

On a typical Friday night I am

Either at home (with or without friends over) or at a friend's house, hanging out, watching movies, playing cards, or just talking.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I've been skinny dipping with over a hundred people at once.

You should message me if

You're intelligent and amusing, and aren't afraid of clever fat chicks.
