My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I could tell you how I think I am a nice down to earth guy that you would benefit from knowing but we all think those things about ourselves, right. The best way to find out is to actually get to know me. Although I am not as confident as I seem to be and will hardly ever be the first to reach out, I am very easy going and approachable. I am also a bit old fashioned and am not into one night stands. I am a more long term person (8 years was the longest) than a serial dater.

I have a lot of different interests but my biggest passion is traveling. I am a citizen of the world and want to see it all. I try to take a trip once a month. I have always been a very curious person so I want to see and experience EVERYTHING! Asking a lot of questions comes with me being curious...or nosey.

I have an adventurous spirit so I am looking for people that can come up with more out of the ordinary things to do besides meeting for a drink. How about we go for a bike ride (I have 2 in case you don't) or take a road trip for the day? I am a simple low maintenance kind of guy and find the most enjoyment in the little things so pleasing me is quite easy. I hardly ever turn down any idea for something to do because I have found many different things I enjoy just by doing them. I am also the reliable one so everyone knows they can always count on me.

Some of the things I enjoy are bike riding, amusement parks, taking drives in the country, road trips to anywhere just to see something new, and having people over for game nights and bar-b-q's. I am a relaxed kind of guy so jeans and t-shirts are my clothing of choice.

I like to stay busy and so I have a lot of hobbies. Currently I spend a lot of time reviewing hotels, restaurants, gyms, casinos, and a few other random places. I also like to volunteer. I am more of a planner but can be spontaneous with certain things. As I always say, if it's not on the calendar it's not happening. Since I don't like to sit still much I tend to fill up my calendar rather quickly so I am not usually one of those guys you can text 5 minutes before you want to do something.

Although I have always had an old soul, I tend to be a bit on the goofy side at times and know how to have fun. I enjoy laughing at myself and like guys who can also. I joke a lot and so you never know if I am being serious or not. Most of the time I am not.

I have never been the cool kid and I'm OK with that. I am a simple kind of guy from Missouri. I still have manners and am almost polite to a fault. I don't like stereotypes or forcing people into a certain type. I don't consider myself masculine or feminine...I am just me. I own power tools and do home renovations and I own a sewing machine and can sew curtains so I will let you try to figure that one out. If you want to impress me (and why wouldn't you ;-)) then don't tell me how big your muscles are or how much you have in your bank account. I like guys who are individuals, the kind that wear clothes they like instead of because it is made by some designer that everyone should be wearing. Don't try to look like or act like everyone else. Just be yourself and I promise I will too.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am a computer programmer for an auditing company. It is not my passion anymore. I work to make money to do the things I like to do. That is not saying I am not good at my job but I know how to balance the two and not let my job run my life. I would like to make a career change but still trying to decide how to go about it. For a hobby I started running a BnB out of my house and have really enjoyed it tremendously. I dream of moving to another country and doing it full time; maybe a Greek island or Costa Rica.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
People tell me they love to listen to my stories so I guess that makes me a good story teller. They say I am funny even when I am not trying to be.
I have also been told by more people than I can count that I inspire them to do more, live more in the moment, and to take more chances. I think I am best at seeing the good in all people. I also like to learn about all people so I ask a lot of questions and try to learn as much as I can.
I have been known to force people out of their comfort zones. Although they struggle at first I am usually always thanked later. I feel the people who take chances are the ones who actually get what they want.
The first things people usually notice about me

Since I am always smiling then it would have to be my smile and then my eyes. They also say I don't look my age and that I look better in person than in pictures.
I have also been described by people as well rounded, brave, and a polite nice person.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I don't read as much as I would like but when I do I like non celebrity biographies. I like to hear other peoples stories. I find inspiration in the human spirit and struggles of all people.

I like most all types of movies and will watch almost any genre. My favorites are dramas and comedies though. I do cry at movies so bring the tissue. Some of my go to movies are The Most Exotic Marigold Hotel, The Way, and Mama Mia. All of them mostly because they remind me of past trips and inspire me to dream bigger.

I don't really watch TV. I might turn it on for 30 minutes a week. I get bored with it quickly unless I am watching it with someone else. For me it is more about being in the company of someone who enjoys it. Since I don't have cable, when I review hotels the channels I go to the most are either HGTV or Food Network. If I am not reviewing the hotel then I am never in the room.

I like a lot of different types of music. It changes from day to day. There is not a lot I won't listen to. The coffee house on my satellite radio is one of my favorite radio stations along with the Broadway channel, OutQ, 80's country, and the 80's channel. I like current stuff also. Music has always spoken to me. Just like scents, music takes me back to a place in time that was special. So I listen to certain songs or types of music when I want to remember certain times that meant a great deal to me. I can be somewhat nostalgic sometimes.

I have always been a picky eater but I have branched out since moving to Philly. I have tried a lot of new foods, some of which I have liked and some I have hated. Pizza still remains my favorite though although Mexican is a close second. I am one of those people who could eat the same thing for the rest of my life and be fine with it. Peanut butter and jelly is what I eat the most.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I don't have many vices. My passport, good friends, music, and cake.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How this website comes up with these match percentages. Seriously though, I think about where my next adventure is going to take me. I moved to Philly 7 years ago and have yet to find my groove in this city like I thought I would. I am a glass half full kind of person and a few things in this city have made me a bit more jaded. Maybe it is time for a change.

I also have always been very mature for my age. For instance, I bought my first house when I was 18 and have always owned my home except for a year when I first moved to Philly. Lately though I have been considering doing something a little less grown up like moving to another country and opening a BnB or just selling everything and starting over some place else. Is that what they call a midlife crisis cause I think I've already had one of those.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
After a week at work I am ready to get out and do something fun. Mostly though I am meeting up with a couple I know for dinner and then going to watch the line dancers at Woody's with them (I did say I was easily entertained). If I am not doing that then I could be heading to the burbs to see a movie or just walking around the city. I don't stay home much.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I tend to share everything about myself right away...my strengths and my weaknesses. A lot of people don't know what to think about that at first so I get a few shocking looks at times. I wear my heart on my sleeve and am not afraid of saying exactly what is on my mind (unless it is rude). I feel it is hard to get to know people if they are always on guard. Nothing is private with me so ask away.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
I find this process to be such a struggle. So many people want to meet someone yet they won't take the chance to actually do it.
I like to meet people right away because the best way to get to know someone is just by doing it. You can't make a genuine connection with someone by texting, emailing, or "friending". So you should message me if you like meeting new people (actually meeting and not just chatting online) for new friends or maybe even a date. Also email me if your profile has more to it than "I like to have fun." I am not aware of many people that don't like to have fun so tell me more than the obvious.
