Just so you know: I'm not here to date anyone. I live with my girlfriend and my daughter, who means the world to me. I really only joined for the tests, and that was before my current relationship. However, I'm happy to welcome new friends. You can write me if you want to, and I'll most likely answer. Where it might lead, I don't know. But if you want to chat with someone who is fairly intelligent, friendly, open-minded and interested in getting to know other people, drop me a line. Liking me, although appreciated, won't do the trick, because I can't see who likes me here.
What I’m doing with my life
I'm earning a living as a freelance writer. I try to be as good a partner and father as I can be. I like to read, daydream and procrastinate, although I can be quite active at times.
I'm a decent cook, a good listener and curious to know what makes people tick. I like to follow news about world events and science, and I'm prone to spend too much time debating on Facebook.
The first things people usually notice about me
I really haven't the faintest idea. I'd like to think it's my
friendly disposition, but I've never asked anyone.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My bookshelves are full of good books, so where to start? Anything
by Edgar Allan Poe, Oscar Wilde, Willem Elsschot, Drs. P, Jean
Pierre Rawie (poets write books, too) and Gerard Reve, I'd
Films? I like to see a good movie, but I'll have to fill in any
titles later. Except Control perhaps, and The Quest for the Holy
Grail. As for tv shows, I should mention Blackadder, anything
Pythonesque and Dexter.
And then there's music. It wouldn't do not to mention Joy Division,
The Cure (up to 1984), The Pogues, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, The Pixies
and Dead Can Dance. But there's so much more.
Food: I like anything, as long as it's vegetarian. I have a thing
for desserts, though.
The six things I could never do without
No big surprises here: obviously my daughter comes first. Then I'd say books, ideas in general, a good laugh and the belief in a better world. Oh, and let's not forget the joy of profound friendships.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What makes people think it's okay to limit other people's rights in
ways they would never accept for themselves.
On a typical Friday night I am
Probably at home. Sorry if that doesn't sound very interesting, but
that's part of the deal when you're a parent.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm a sucker for WWII movies. Can't help it!
You should message me if
You feel so inclined.
