My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in Boston, went to Tufts, and lived in London for a year. I make a mean crepe. I love the outdoors and almost anything in the sun. I have summer vacation (yes, you should be jealous). I’m sarcastic, I overuse parentheses and the word "actually," I eat all the free samples at outdoor food markets, I read the NY Times compulsively, I misuse idioms (I may have once said, "Not on my belt"), and I can be very gullible (my Australian friends convinced me that they ride kangaroos to school as children).
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Learning middle school science two days before I teach it to my students.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
the teacher glare
eating olives
Super Smash Brothers (for N64)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

I'll eat pretty much anything aside from fish, but I'll take mac and cheese any day. I have eaten Sabra hummus for lunch for the majority of the past 3 years. I pretend to be a "foodie" and try new foods and restaurants.

The Daily Show, 30 Rock, House of Cards, The Simpsons, and Homeland are my top tv shows. I'm in the middle of season 4 of West Wing and love it. And no, I don't watch Breaking Bad (and no, just because I'm a science teacher, it doesn't mean I don't cook meth).

Currently re-reading Ender's Game, because all my students are reading it. And, if memory serves, it was awesome.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
cheese (I'm partially lactose intolerant, and I still eat it)
The New York Times
Levain chocolate chip walnut cookies
my dog Chip
Google Chat
the interwebs
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what part of the world to visit next (I've spent the last two summers traveling around China, Japan, and Southeast Asia in general).

...and whether these essays should start with a capital letter and end with a period.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
taking it easy, having a beer/wine/cider, watching a tv show/movie, or getting dinner with friends
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I go to sleep at the ungodly hour of 10pm on school nights. Teaching does that to people.
