I am sentimental, generous, and loyal.

My Self-Summary

I'm from New Orleans and I currently attend school in Lake Charles, LA. I am 20 years old and I'm going to school to be a teacher. After my bachelor's (I'm currently a sophomore) I plan to get my Master's degree.

In real life, I am unbearably shy, something I'm trying to get over, since I can't be shy when I'm teaching. I can also be very socially awkward.

I love music -- my favorite is classic rock. I'm generally into 70s, and 80s rock and pop, but I like at least SOMETHING from most genres. My favorite band is Pink Floyd.

I like going to school, in general, and my favorite subjects are English and history. My least favorites are math and science.

I love animals and have two cats, Lucifer Sam and Briseis, and two dogs (both Pembroke Welsh Corgis -- best dog breed ever!), Mindy and Milo. I love my babies more than I can describe. My cat is six years old, Mindy is two and a half years old and Milo is two months old.

I love kids and I have an eight year old brother who I am very close to.

I like ancient Egyptian and Greek mythology and religion. Really really fun interesting stuff. I get way too into it.

I like reading weird articles (I spend a lot of time on Fark.com), learning about the crazy, weird, paranormal, medical mysteries, strange scientific breakthroughs, whatever. I also enjoy studying the Crime Library (I read through the entire site, except the paid membership part. Anyone wanna buy me a membership?)

I also love to shop, be it on eBay or in the mall. I think I have a spending habit, oh well. I have way too many body products.. lotions, body sprays, and soaps. They make me happy.

I like games of all sorts. I love video games, MMORPGs, board games and card games. I am not a club/bar/night out on the town person. I would much rather sit at home and play video games or go see a movie in theatres. I like to think as far as entertainment goes I am rather low maintenance.

What I’m doing with my life

Going to school, getting my Bachelor's and then my Master's. After that, hopefully getting a good job. Would like to travel to different places, eventually. But who knows, I live in the moment.

I’m really good at

sleeping.
Yoshi's Island for the SNES.
The game Sphere Break (from Final Fantasy X-2. I'm good at it even though I suck at math. Strange?)
overanalyzing.
putting my foot in my mouth.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm really socially awkward. Like really. I'm not kidding. Sometimes I do things that are so stupid I'm surprised I don't have some kind of disorder. Maybe I do, who knows.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Books.. I love Douglas Adams. He is one of my heroes. Any book by him is on the top of my list. I also really like Tom Robbins -- my favorite by him is Fierce Invalids Home From Hot Climates. His writing is an acquired taste, and something I wouldn't normally like, but for some reason it appeals to me. I also like In Watermelon Sugar by Richard Brautigan and I love Kafka's The Castle. Bayou Farewell by Mike Tidwell is a really great book about the disappearance of the Louisiana wetlands. Every resident of LA should read it. Neil Gaiman is spectacular and I adore both his poetry and his novels. I also really like Shel Silverstein's poetry. Oh, and Terry Pratchett and Chuck Palahniuk. But there are lots more.

My favorite movie is Moulin Rouge, hands down, though I like many others. I love musicals such as My Fair Lady and Mamma Mia. I also really enjoy animated movies, some favorites being Ratatouille, Finding Nemo, Up, and anything by Tim Burton.

My favorite TV show used to be Futurama but the quality of the humor has gone down hill a little. I also like interior design shows such as Trading Spaces, I could watch them all day. I Tivo all the episodes of Adoption Stories but I think I've watched them all since all I keep getting is repeats. I love to watch Mystery Diagnosis too.

Music.. Tori Amos, Pink Floyd, X Japan, Queen, Manic Street Preachers, The Beatles, Procul Harum, etc.. too many to list.

The six things I could never do without

Water, I drink way too much of it.
A computer, I am slightly addicted.
My family, they mean the world to me.
My dogs and cats, they are my babies.
Deodorant. I hate when I stink, and I tend to sweat easily. :( But I just put this one because I couldn't think of anything else.

I spend a lot of time thinking about

My own mortality and the mortality of those I love. Uplifting, huh? Though I don't say it, I spend all day thinking about this when I'm not busying myself with some mundane task. I'm not exaggerating, either. Any time I think of something beyond obvious, physical, day to day existence, it is about this. It doesn't help and I wish I could stop.

On a typical Friday night I am

Well, I can tell you where I WON'T be.. anywhere that's not my house unless it's the grocery store.

Studying, on the computer, or sleeping. I could also be playing the Playstation or Wii with my aunt or brother. Maybe if you catch me in a weird mood I'll be watching TV or cleaning.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

You can already pretty much tell I'm weird and neurotic, so what the hell?

You should message me if

I just like taking the quizzes and answering questions. But if you think we'd get along, feel free to message me.
