My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I hate talking about myself. Unfortunately, that would make for a poor self-summary so here goes. Most people would probably describe me as somewhat geeky: I'm a post-grad studying late Roman and medieval history; I also have a passion for science (my undergraduate course was literally decided on a coin flip - science or history). I am willing to argue politics, global affairs, morality, and philosophy with anyone foolish enough to bring up the topic. I build electric guitars in my spare time. I like thrash-metal and, somewhat weirdly, minimalist-classical music. I love tennis (Federer is a god) and hate football with a burning passion.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working on my thesis: many long hours of reading and translating, writing, re-writing, re-re-writing, deleting and starting over. I build electric guitars in my spare time, and try to play some tennis when I can.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Constructing a cogent and logical argument. Also procrastinating... and being awkward around people I don't know that well. Coming across as an aloof dick: caused by reading too much Sherlock Holmes as a child, a mildly posh sounding accent, being socially awkward and using words like 'aloof'. I've been told I'm actually sweeter (eugh!) than I first seem.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have rather long hair and a beard. I'm avoiding everyone else. I look like I'm deep in thought at all times. I'm 'actively silent'... apparently.

The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Uni work, science, questions of morality, politics, reasons why religion is a bunch of mumbo-jumbo widely accepted and espoused by my fellows. How to live a good and fulfilling life - and failing to follow-through.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Writing until the early hours of the morning. And on a typical Saturday morning I am busy deleting most of what was written the previous night. Fun times!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
