I am effervescent, keen, and electric.

My Self-Summary

Hey there!

I noticed that the length of time that my profile hadn't changed was verging on the ridiculous, so I thought I'd revamp it a tad. We all need some more vamp in our lives from time to time.

I've just come out of a relationship, so I'm definitely not out here lookin' for love, but I am definitely into looking to see what life's got to offer right now.

Now comes the part where I try to describe myself in 200 words or less. yeesh!
I'm a student in Guelph, getting my Masters in Food Science. It's pretty awesome.

I'm also the kind of person though that really resents when work gets in the way of life. I am pretty serious about having fun time for myself :P

I tend to fill the room with my laugh, which can be infectious. I find a lot of things in life pretty damn hilarious. Especially the serious stuff. Also the silly stuff. So in summary, stuff is funny.

I'm pretty darn into equality and personal freedoms. One might say I'm a social Libertarian and a fiscal ignorant fool. I have a very open mind and a mouth to go with it haha. People generally don't have to try too hard to find out what I'm thinking, but I'm also pretty good at knowing when to clam up and listen.

I'm a collector of random hobbies and interests. My most recent acquisitions are typography, design, and photography. I'm always into cooking and language. I find it fascinating the relationship cultures have with language. What influences what? Who knows? It's wacky!

I can be a bit of a music snob, but I'm in rehab for that. We have group sessions where we're forced to listen to Coldplay and Jack Johnson until we admit that their music is good and it's not their fault they were overplayed to the max.

People also fascinate me -- How they work, what their motivations are, and where their viewpoints originate from. Everybody's so very unique, it's kinda awesome.

What I’m doing with my life

I'm currently workin' on a Masters of Food Science. Also, personal growth. That there's some good stuff.

I’m really good at

My talents have shifted and some have become more formidable and some have fallen by the wayside, but my most excellent talent would still have to be Procrastination.

I also think I'm a pretty good photographer and cook, but those both need more work (what doesn't?).

I'm good at making you laugh, especially when I'm on a roll.

One thing I'm NOT good at is pointing out what I'm really good at. I have skills! I promise!

The first things people usually notice about me

Probably that I'm making a loud silly ass of myself with my friends across the room.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

a) I've not been reading too much recently, but I've bought a lot of cool nonfiction recently. Also as far as fiction goes, these are kickass -- The Count of Monte Cristo, The Giver, A Clockwork Orange, Catch-22, Pilgrim (Timothy Findley), The Wars (Findley again), Harry Potter, 1984

b) Beaches, Outrageous Fortune, Twilight Zone (TV), Donnie Darko, Rocky Horror Picture Show, Hedwig and the Angry Inch, Eternal Sunshine, Amelie, 28 Days later, (Do Buffy and Angel count?), Requiem for a Dream, Fifth Element, Grindhouse, Volver, La Mala Educacion, Life Aquatic, Broken Flowers, Royal Tenenbaums, Sin City, RENT, Good Bye, Lenin!, Quills, Hello Dolly

c)How 'bout just what I'm listening to now, otherwise this could get silly. ||Crystal Castles, Battles, Hot Chip, Goldfrapp, Yelle, Boys Noize, Green Go, Woodhands, Christopher Norman, Brazilian Girls. Now how 'bout some old classics -- Bjork, Cut Copy, Radiohead, Metric, Mother Mother, Midnight Juggernauts, Shout Out Out Out Out, Sigur Rós, Decemberists, Daft Punk, Will Currie and the Country French, Stars, K'Naan, NIN, Kaki King, Rilo Kiley, New Young Pony Club, Holy Fuck!, CSS, oh jeebus it just keeps going.||

d) I can get excited about pretty much any food. What matters to me is that it was prepared by people who gave a damn and the food's dignity is preserved, if that makes sense. Also, pizza.

The six things I could never do without

Adventure, People, Music, Food, Fantastic trackpants, Learning

I spend a lot of time thinking about

I used to think that I didn't give myself much time to think. That's plain silliness. I spend a *lot* of time picking apart my own brain and trying to figure out what's behind my actions and emotions. I strive regularly to understand myself, 'cause I can be confusing sometimes.

On a typical Friday night I am

Definitely with friends, but beyond that I can't say. Activities vary wildly!

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I'm kind of excited about the return of the 80s.
