Semi-retired and loving life in my fourth career. Seeking a good conversationalist who is savvy on life and conversant about what's going on in the world.

Two comments: (1) I'mENFP. Decidedly extroverted.

My long-term goal is a long-term, monogamous, relationship. My short-term goal is finding a lady with the same long-term goal in her sights.

And...(2) although my profile shows up as markedly Republican, nothing is farther from the truth in reality. I'm very much politically "middle of the road".

I am fun and funny, available, and attachable!

Having a fabulous time in semi-retirement! Absolutely loving the "retirement" job I have, enjoying my coworkers, and enjoy the corporate culture of the best company I've ever worked for. Enjoying having more spare time than I've had in years. Enjoying traveling to interesting places, meeting new interesting people, having lots of fun. Traveling a good bit, but I've always traveled. My middle name should have been GO!

What am I seeking? A traveling companion, running buddy, someone who enjoys movies, c&w dancing, cooking good food together. Still looking, incidentally.

Listening. Talking. Cooking. Conversing. Reading for fun. Reading for information. Lifelong learning.

And have become adept at answering all these funky questions!

I'm told it's eyes and smile, then sense of humor and great attitude. That I'm friendly. Approachable. Great conversationalist. Excellent listener. Self-assured but not arrogant. Mind like a steel trap. Informed about what's going on in the world...That I'm a "free spirit". Some would say a maverick. Some say they have their own drummer. Me? I say I've got my own percussion section! Yes...I "have my moments"! Don't we all???? I promise I'll make you laugh.

Love reading. Most recent read was John Adams. Others read recently were Dan Moody, Crusader for Justice; Poland by James Michener (a favorite author), Freakonomics, Return of the Godfather (a "sequel" to the original but by a different author), Jesus, Elvis, and Coca Cola by Kinky Friedman. Alan Greenspan's autobiography. I'm reading my first Baldacci novel, and will soon read one of the Friedman books on economics and world politics. Got any other suggestions? Pass 'em on!

Love movies: Just saw :Letters to Juliet. Other faves: :Angels and Demons", "Duplicity", "DaVinci Code", "Taken", "Adventureland", "Knowing", and "Mamma Mia"....TWICE! Have been lusting after Meryl Streep for years, even though she has four kids! She's awesome! This is the best part she's ever played. This list is hard to keep up with since I am a frequent movie patron.

Love to cook. Enjoy cooking from new recipes. Don't always follow the recipe though. I like to compare and combine them. Just more of the maverick in me.

I love dry red wines. The drier, the better.

Internet access, someone to talk with, Peace and Quiet, Texas Brisket, Music, Online newspapers, and a good woman. Okay, that's seven....so sometimes I play outside the box. And...number seven is an elusive "quality". Pick your favorite six of the seven and you've got me nailed.

How come people don't answer email, even to say "not interested"?

Will the Astros *ever* even get CLOSE to the playoffs again?

Has anyone seen "Dubya" lately????

Will the volcano in Alaska blow skyhigh? Maybe the heat will melt the ice there and Texas will once again be the largest state!

Friday night is always good for late dinner and/or late movie.
