I am crafty, exuberant, and affable.

My Self-Summary

These are the facts:

I love flying. My life goal is to have a plane. I know how to fly but I don't have my license yet. I've been told I'm rather good at flying. First flight I took off, flew for 30 minutes and flew the pattern twice (on account of the plane floating halfway down the runway on the first approach).

Knowledge and skill are nothing more than applied effort. I'm good at quite a few things and I got that way by listening to people who knew more than me, then trying things out for myself. I have the scars to prove it.

One day, about a year ago, I was at work and somebody asked a question ( I don't remember what about) and I answered it. It was a strange question about some obscure topic and my boss turned to me and said, "You know entirely too damn much about too many things." What could I say to that? "Thanks."

What I’m doing with my life

Working. Writing three books. Browsing book stores. Drinking tea because I don't really enjoy coffee. Unless it's from a Vietnamese restaurant.

Right now I do tech support work and write.

I’m really good at

I am great at dancing and singing along to songs (Rock Band lead singers represent). I am fantastic at writing.

The first things people usually notice about me

I'm tall. Some people think I'm intimidating. Other people notice that I love to talk. What they immediately notice usually depends on how tall they are.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I love reading. There are a ton of books I love so here area few: The Sun Also Rises - Ernest Hemingway, Beyond Good and Evil - Friedrich Nietzsche, American Psycho - Bret Easton Ellis, We - Yevgeny Zamyatin, Something Wicked This Way Comes - Ray Bradbury, The Neverending Story - Michael Ende, The Hero With a Thousand Faces - Joseph Campbell, Don Quixote - Cervantes, Sex, Drugs and Cocoa Puffs - Chuck Klostermann, And You Shall Know Our Velocity - Dave Eggers

Cinema is fun too! I can go on about movies if you'd like. I enjoy Total Recall, Northfork, Pi, The Outlaw Josey Wales, Wild Zero, the Dark Crystal, Amelie, The Thin Red Line, The Big Lebowski

I like music (surprise!). The bands and artists I like span all genres. These represent a small cross section of my interests: Mew, Porcupine Tree, Jurassic 5, Guitar Wold, Thievery Corp., Bob Dylan, Loretta Lynn, Explosions in the Sky, Samuel Barber, Frank Zappa, Edgard Varese, Ted Leo and the Pharmacists, Sufjan Stevens, The Residents, Pink Floyd, Nirvana, Suede, Reel Big Fish, The Eels, Aimee Mann, Ani DiFranco, Queen, the Beatles. I also love House music, particularly Soul and Funk House as classified by Di.fm

I cook well. Ask me about my amazing beef roast in onion gravy. I appreciate great food. Allez cuisine! I will eat pretty much anything. One of my good buddies owns an Indian restaurant. I'm also pretty good friends with a guy who runs a Thai/Japanese fusion restaurant. It's all good. I make the most amazing applesauce you've ever had in your life. Guaranteed.

The six things I could never do without

A silly question but one I shall answer nonetheless! Socks, scotch, peanut butter, a pen, quantity 1 interesting person to talk to, and a way of going places (car, motorcycle, airplane, unicycle ...not so much the unicycle)

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Buying a plane and a motorcycle. Going hiking/climbing/running. Writing.

How generic I could possibly make my interests.

A better analogy to use to describe the way the universe and space time are related. It gets really old trying to explain how "you can't go north of the north pole."

On a typical Friday night I am

Sitting in my bedroom, crying myself to sleep because nobody loves me and I have no friends :,(

In all seriousness I tend to roll up and catch all the stuff I've missed that week, whether it's a couple of shows (Lost, Fringe, Dollhouse, Burn Notice), catching a movie or writing. I don't crave going out late at night. I like sunshine.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I sing acceptably well, but only in the car or karaoke. I can't carry a tune to save my life without accompaniment.

I have a man crush on Henry Rollins.

Centipedes creep me the hell out.

You should message me if

You know that "irregardless" doesn't mean anything

Be aware: If you believe that creationism or ID should be taught in science class as an "opposing viewpoint" to evolution, message another boy. This one wants nothing to do with your crazy, anti-intellectual self.
