My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved from Texas to Chicago on August 22, 2011, 12 days after graduating from The University of North Texas with a degree in Hospitality Management. Since moving here, I've held an indefinite number of jobs, trying to find something I really enjoyed and that made me feel like I had a degree instead of just working the same jobs I'd been working through college. Luckily, I've stumbled upon a career path that has eluded me until this point and I feel like it's going to take me to some great places. But enough about me.

Here's some more about me: outside of work, I enjoy reading, I've recently gotten into running and have now finished three half-marathons, working out, traveling (although I haven't seen much of the greater Illinois area, I mostly have been traveling back to Texas recently), geocaching on occasion, playing board games with friends or occasionally going out dancing. Also I'm not a fan of this long run-on sentence paragraph but I think it gets the point across.

I feel like Texas has definitely had an influence on who I am (in a good way though, not in like a Rick Perry way) and I'm pretty happy about it. I don't wear cowboy boots and I (unfortunately) don't have an accent, but I'll listen to Garth Brooks any day and I really just want to go to country night at Houndstooth sometime.

I've also realized a little too late in the game that having the words "rope" and "bond" in my name could be a little misleading. Umm... it's just a combination of names, okay?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Finally at a point where I can see into the future instead of just poking around the job field. I now know what I want my career path to be, what I want to devote my free time to and who I want to have around me while I figure everything out.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being positive. I'm rarely in a bad mood and although I'm also pretty rarely serious, I can be if I need to. I also think I'm pretty good at interviews, but it's hard not to be when you've been on as many as I have.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My eyelashes are kind of long, so there's that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - Anything by Stephen King is okay by me. I haven't really read anything of his that I didn't like, although the same can't be said for some of his movie versions. Some other favorites are: John Grisham, Jasper Fforde, Dan Brown, Harry Potter series, some nonfiction, mostly on diet or behavior, The Princess Bride, Alice in Wonderland and Shadow of the Wind.

Movies - Bridesmaids, Kill Bill, Black Swan, Mean Girls, Zoolander, Paranormal Activity, Scary Movie, Home Alone 1 and 2, Prometheus, the Dark Knight Trilogy, Star Wars, Kung Pow, Jurassic Park. Mostly comedy, sometimes scary, rarely action.

Shows - Grey's Anatomy, Arrested Development, Breaking Bad, Weeds, Brothers and Sisters, Revenge, Family Guy, Arthur (for educational purposes), Malcolm in the Middle, 30 Rock, Saturday Night Live, Big Brother, Scandal.

Music - Missy Elliot, Dragonette, Gossip, Die Antwoord, Kimbra, Five Iron Frenzy, Eminem, Streetlight Manifesto, Adele, Robyn, Regina Spektor, Gorillaz, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Rye Rye, Beastie Boys, La Roux, Nicki Minaj, Lil Wayne, Beyonce, Azealia Banks. Never thought I would get to this point, but going through all of Kanye's albums right now and I really like him. I also really like country these days... Garth Brooks, Alan Jackson, Luke Bryan, Billy Currington, George Strait, etc. Just started getting into Florence + the Machine, Delta Rae, Ellie Goulding and ZZ Ward.

Also a fan of most musicals, with Drowsy Chaperone being my absolute favorite.

Food - This can be a tough section for me, but I'm mostly into Mexican and BBQ... I feel like my palate has expanded since moving to Chicago though. I now have a thing for deep dish pizza as well.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1) Physical activity
2) Socializing in some way.
3) New music every once in a while.
4) Some sort of goal.
5) A Tex-Mex restaurant.
6) My family.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Purpose (it's that little flame that lights a fire under your ass). Not really, but during my job search that song keeps getting stuck in my head. I think it helps though.

Honestly I think about the future a lot. I'm a planner by nature so I think about where my job is taking me, how cool it would be to introduce a guy to my family (at some point down the line anyway), how far is my next run going to be, what Bridesmaids quote best fits this situation, etc. I tend to think too much about things that haven't happened or that I have no control over, but oh well.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Out of my apartment in some capacity. If I'm not, it's because someone's over and we're playing board games. Either way, I'm probably having a good time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Two weeks ago my roommates and I bought a 3000 piece puzzle. I don't know if that mere fact is more embarrassing or the idea that we might have slightly overcommited and it's probably going to be on our dining room table for over two months.

UPDATE: The puzzle has been completed and it actually took three months but what a wild ride that was.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You like what you see and you're willing to get drinks or lunch sometime. I don't care if you just say "what's up?" as long as you can hold a conversation in real life. I always think meeting people is the best way to find out about them, so I don't spend a lot of time back and forth in messages. Also, I'm definitely looking for something serious, not really into hooking up or whatever "short-term dating" is. Never really got that idea. Anyway, just send me a message.
