I'm currently in the throws of making holiday presents, elbow deep
in yarn, glitter and fabric.
I moved to Olympia from the Midwest. I love that there is limited
snow here, although I miss being snowed in and forced to do
nothing. I still don't get the "Seattle freeze," and sometimes I
think OKC is more about window shopping than it is about meeting
people for real. (I'd rather meet them for real). I work in social
services and have my M.S. in counseling. I'm looking to connect
with new folks for friends and dating.
I imagine I'll always have a career working in healing, whether it
be therapist, advocate, case worker, or frontline staff. I can't
imagine not working with people directly.
I like to do stuff with my dog. We go swimming, on hikes, walks
around the neighborhood, etc. We just spent a weekend camping in La
Push and it was pretty awesome, even when the tide crept up on my
tent. I'm kind of a home body... I like to work in the yard,
crochet, sew and craft, play games, etc. When I go out, I like to
grab dinner & a drink. I'm not overly fond of big crowds except
at outdoor concerts. Sometimes I get my groove on. I like
exploring. I love road trips. I love beach camping. Sometimes I cry
out of joy when I see beautiful sunsets. I don't care if the person
I'm seeing is really extroverted; that person should just know I
won't be joining them out and about 100% of time time. In the
summer I like to be outside as much as possible. The sound of the
wind in the trees is perhaps one of my most favorite sounds on
Humor is really important to me. Laughing is key to my well-being.
I've got a wry & dry, ironic sort of wit myself, but I'm also a
fan of well-played physical comedy (think Chris Farley) and
ridiculous humor (think Will Ferrell).
I'm a deeply spiritual person, and this informs how I live my life
and interact with the world. I don't push anything on anyone, only
ask that it be respected.
