My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Greetings and salutations!

I'm a novel-writing, cookie-baking, river-kayaking, video-making, canvas-painting horror fanatic who can't think of anymore exciting descriptors for myself.

I'm Alexandra, a young adult who is currently going back to school after a long hiatus for secondary history education. Right now I live in Delhi but I tend to move around a lot, about once a year. I'm British by birth and lived in the Midlands and Devon, where my heart resides, as well as three states with the most recent being Michigan.

I used to be really goddamn fat but have lost almost 30lbs since the beginning of summer, and am pretty into continuing that until I hit my goal weight. I'm not telling you this because I hope you'll think that's hot but more because I'm proud of my accomplishments, of which I have more than a few.

My artwork is currently hanging in a fetish club in Detroit and I've sold quite a bit over the past year or so, but art has ceased to be my major passion. I've always been crazy about history, particularly medieval, and spend much of my time learning as much as possible about everything I can.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Reading, hiking in the Catskills, playing RPG Maker horror games, watching terrible movies, watching Cinema Snob watching terrible movies, filming educational videos for YouTube and being generally awesome.

Oh and I'm writing a book-thing.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Messing with people whilst maintaining a straight face.

Obscure movie quotes and bar trivia.

Using slang that's been outdated for at least fifty years.

I like to think I'm a snazzy dresser.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm on fire and running around screaming.

I'm working on that though.

Books:
Yes.

Music:
I'm now updating this section monthly.
July 2014: Beirut, Gogol Bordello, Wax Tailor, Beats Antique, Ours, Apocalyptica, Bonobo, Massive Attack.

Film:
I have wayyyy too many. Caligula, Sleepaway Camp (it's so bad, I love it), The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus, Silence of the Lambs, Airplane!, and Victor/Victoria are among my favourites.

Food:
I never eat red meat. I love sushi, pretty much all forms of seafood that aren't battered and deep fried, Asian dumplings (especially Korean and Chinese), fruit and salads. Since I've started being serious about my health, I've actually lost interest in potatoes, bread, pasta and all carbonated beverages.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Storms
2. Forests
3. Large bodies of water
4. Psychedelics
5. Paper + pen
6. Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The futility of human existence, world hunger, poverty in third world countries...

...sorry, no, that was a typo. What I meant was Space Jam.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Probably smoking a cigarette and staring off into space, hopefully in the woods and near a stream.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My bluntness and cynicism often works against me.

I'm not less of a woman for hating and never wanting children.

I really hope someday that humanity destroys itself.
I’m looking for
  • Everybody
  • Ages 24–30
  • Located anywhere
  • For new friends

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You are odd, unique and a bit of a bastard.

The Cinema Snob is your spirit animal.

When someone says you couldn't possibly know how to do something, you take it as a challenge.

You think intellectualism, cynicism and a dry wit are essential.
