My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hair and beard length may vary greatly.

Some of the greatest moments in my life are when my house is full of friends and family, and I am preparing food and probably sipping wine, soaking in the din and warmth of everyone's presence. I love food, from growing and raising it, to preparing and serving it and every step in between. To me, food is an expression of love.

I read too much and maybe sometimes think too much, but I always try to remember not to take myself too seriously. Life is so full of amazing adventure, experience and opportunity. I can be gregarious and have a quick whit, but I enjoy time to myself to recharge.

I love being active, especially outdoors, and even more so if mountains are involved. Any season can find me out enjoying it, doing anything athletic- hiking, snowshoeing, mushroom hunting.

I get to the gym regularly, and enjoy training Filipino martial arts and Muay Thai.

I'm in a non-hierarchical poly relationship. I live with my wonderful partner and her daughter in a happy, healthy, drama-free space full of love, support, and affection.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Relearning old school skills. Making real food from scratch, like your grandma' did.

Learning and experiencing everything I can. Climbing the highest elevation in each of the 50 states. Acquiring as many passport stamps as I can. Wearing out as many hiking boots as possible. Getting better at growing, raising and procuring food. Building community. Forgoing competition for compassion and cooperation.

Making it the richest experience possible.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Being kind. Being patient. Making people laugh. Making people think. Cooking and baking. Being resourceful and prepared for things. Like anything. Like I can probably say yes as soon as you say, "You wouldn't happen to have..." Being reliable. Lifting heavy things.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Avid reader and music listener. If a dystopia like Fahrenheit 451ever occurs, I have all of the books to hide. I read a lot of nonfiction, philosophy, psychology, and I love classic literature.

I love live music, better yet if there is camping involved. My friends and I make it a point of road tripping to ACL every year. How could anyone pick a favorite band with so much incredible music out there?! Cocorosie, Holy Golightly, Billy Childish, Radiohead, Alt-J, Wye Oak, Aesop Rocks, Matisyahu, Beastie Boys, Jack Johnson, Bob Marley, Hendrix, Black Keys, Muddy Waters, She Keeps Bees, Townes Van Zandt, Jolie Holland, Emily Jane White, The Pixies...

Unless it is Netflix, I don't really watch TV. Don't get me wrong, I love Blacklist and Archer. I do love movies! From Queen of the Nile to Blade Runner to What Dreams May Come to The Secretary. Movies from Tarantino, Jodorowsky, Anderson, Coppola (both of them), most anything put out by Focus, to action flics and blockbusters. Either in the theatre with popcorn and milkduds (at the same time, salty/sweet) to on my couch under a blanket.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Good food. Intellectual discourse. The presence of loved ones. The outdoors. Books. Discovery.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Social and food justice. How to help raise an eleven year old girl to be empowered and confident. How to not just have a smaller footprint but to have a positive one. How to live life better and with more happiness, surrounding myself with positive, caring, thoughtful people.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Getting friends together over food, watching stars beside a tent in the mountains, watching live music or curled up watching a movie.

I'm looking for someone with whom I can share passionate conversations. Who thinks kissing can be an art form. Someone who understands and/or appreciates the energy it takes to make great food and the results it yields. And, of course, someone who feels amazing connections aren't limited to proprietary relationships.
