I had always considered myself shy but as I get older I think that has largely changed. I am a software engineer so I suppose that means I have some traces of introversion. Don't worry though, I can put that aside and be social as well. I admit that I am sentimental and somewhat of a romantic (I cried when I saw Titanic). I am not very politically correct and my sense of humor can be somewhat juvenile.

I grew up in Oklahoma and moved to Colorado after college with the primary goal of snowboarding as much as possible. I still snowboard but not as much in recent years. I do like to stay active and spend a lot of time at the climbing gym. And living in Boulder I try to take advantage of the paths and ride my bike often.

At some point in my life I became interested in studying languages and have been trying to teach myself German. I also love to travel and see how the rest of the world lives. My current plan is to combine these two interests and move to Germany or Austria. My guess is this will happen in about 4 years.

A few other random things:
- During my college years I did quite a bit of storm chasing. The last tornado I chased destroyed my house.
- I got drunk for the first time in 2011. Most people don't seem to believe this.
- I am football fan and by football I mean soccer, especially the European leagues.
- I know a surprising amount about aviation for someone who holds no type of pilot license. If we are on a trip and the pilots are incapacitated I think I could bring her in.

- Developing software for a great company here in Boulder.
- Lots of climbing at The Spot climbing gym.
- Learning to play guitar.
- Studying German

Reading is one of my favorite things. I typically read history but enjoy a good fiction book now and then as well. I am currently reading A Distant Mirror which is a general history of the 14th century. Pretty dorky I know. The last fiction book I read was Day by Day Armageddon. Some good old end of the world zombie apocalypse action. I also try and read whatever German books I can get my hands on. These are typically basic readers.

Movies - I love all types of movies. Some favorites: The Lives of Others, Goodbye Lenin, The Bourne Trilogy, Inception. And for some 80s nostalgia: Better off Dead, The Goonies and Red Dawn.

Shows - Breaking Bad, Boardwalk Empire, The Walking Dead, The Amazing Race, Seinfeld, Family Guy

Music - Blue October, Shiny Toy Guns, Angels & Airwaves, Blink 182, Green Day, U2, The Killers, anything Mozart, anything with a fiddle and/or banjo. When I was in college I DJd clubs and raves and still enjoy house and other electronic music.

Food - Pretty much anything. Thai and Indian are at the top of the list.

At the climbing gym. Reading a book. Seeing a movie or going out to dinner with friends.

You might be a little dorky or quirky. You like to read. You like to learn. You have a great sense of humor. You wouldn't be opposed to living in Europe someday.
