My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Giving this a shot... As with much in my life, my attitude remains "why not?"
I am generally a laid back guy; content and friendly in large groups, talkative and affable in small ones, but always game for whatever life throws at me. And up until now, life sure hasn't been skimping in that department.
I am always on the lookout for something ORIGINAL, whether it be new or old... food, music, tv, movies, conversations, destinations. Would love to find a person who is as keen about exploring new things as I am.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work in film. I am hugely passionate about my career, and very much want to leave a stamp on the world in some creative way. Would love to find someone who is as equally passionate about their respective career, whatever that may be. I'm a director/writer to be exact. Directed one feature, won a few awards it probably didnt deserve, still trying to get comfortable with the process

I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My smile... I'm told I'm a smiley guy.

Movies - let start by saying I've seen more movies than most. I love them. But to give you an idea :standard 80/90s fare from my youth - Jurassic Park, Terminator 2, Goonies, Ghostbusters, Clue, Great Outdoors, Uncle Buck, Princess Bride, r. Gory horror flicks of my teen years- The Thing, Hellraiser 2, Evil Dead 2, Nightmare of Elm St, TCM). And then lots of obscure arthouse movies: Tarkovsky's Nostalgia, Antonioni's Il Deserto Rosso, Dardenne's L'enfant, and Merielles' City of God are all great.
Gravity, Her, synecdoche NY, act of Killing, sky fall, avengers, dark Knight, way way back...
I will always check out new flicks from my fav directors - Scorsese, both Andersons (PT & Wes), Nolan, Fincher.
I'm also a sucker for special fx flicks, especially of the superhero variety. 31 years old going on 13 til the end baby.

TV - True Detective, Mad Men, Boardwalk Empire, Game of Thrones, Portlandia, Archer, Seinfeld, Simpsons, Sopranos, Breaking Bad, Leafs, Jays. Mr. Show, West Wing, Twin Peaks, and on and on I go.

Books - Stephen King and Michael Crichton have a close place to my heart - they were my first "adult" authors growing up, and I've read pretty much everything they've done and hooked me ever since. Recent good reads include The Idiot, Cloud Atlas, The Demon, We Need to Talk About Kevin, Black Swan (Nassim Taleb's book, even though the unrelated movie is great).

Music - Here we go again. Been listening to a downloadable playlists lately, lots of obscure indie rock . Latest include Olms, Traams, Okkervil River, Ralfe Band, Foxygen, Young Jesus, Ty Segall, White Fence, Phantogram, Me Like Bees,Jake Bugs, Arcade Fire, Strange Boys, Grouplove, Black Lips, La Sera, Teenanger, Kurt Vile, Future Islands, Bahamas. Ipod standards include: modest mouse, Black Keys, Hayden, PJ, Walkmen, Pinback, Queens of the MF Stone Age, DFA 1979, Sam Roberts, Neil, Stones, Beatles, Pixies, Radiohead, you get the idea...

Food - Pretty much anything goes. Love Mexican, French, and pretty much all Asian cooking. Toronto is a world class restaurant city so love trying new great spots too. However, Death row last meal will always be A 12oz sirloin topped with a buttered lobster tail, a bottle of shiraz to savour along with it and a chocolate shadow cake for dessert. Three fingers of scotch to finish
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A fully charged Ipod
A book in my backpack
A coffee in hand
A beer on a sunny patio with friends
Afternoon on a dock in Muskoka at least once a summer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Previous conversations
Better one-liners than the ones I came up with on the spot that morning ("Jerk store!")
Whatever song is repeating endlessly in my head at any given time
The best route in the city to make up for however late I am to the next appointment I'm going to...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I work in the service industry on weekends, so typically I am doing that... but love to see local concerts, LOVE going to movies, or hit up a bar with some friends.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My front teeth are fake. Bike accident in gr 4. Ouch
