My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Coming out of a 10 year relationship that in the end, lacked love, but still respect... I can't put my finger on it, but just don't know how it got there (I need to do a better job of being open and honest with my feelings, I suppose, but what about her?). Clearly I was not where I want to be. I enjoy work and working out, I love to explore and adventure and be active. And want to find the right woman to share time with. I am strong and confident and feel the need for my partner to share the same qualities. I love to be surprised as much as I like to do the surprising. As an avid mtn biker, I'm an addict for rocks and redwoods! Was a competitive rugby player for years, then coach, ref and administrator, but am now enjoying stepping back a bit.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Transition from a comfy home w/out the love... now refurbishing an older home in College Greens, close to work, and that is a massive redo, consuming time on the short term. Have been focusing on self improvement.... which appears to be working as pounds are dropping off and my activity level is way up. Dropped nearly 50 lbs from when most of my photos were shot! A lot of time on the road and mtn bike, very therapeutic. HAVE GOTTEN BIG INTO YOGA NOW FOR OVER A YEAR, LOVE IT! Getting into ab diving and spear fishing, and may get back into kayaking. Enjoy the occasional motorcycle trip. Spending perhaps a bit too much time on my computer, and not enough time sharing my time with friends and lover... that's gotta change!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
As a designer I enjoy consulting with ambitious clients, helping them to shape their dreams. As a contractor I enjoy helping them to realize these dreams (and am enjoying another very good year!). And as a human being I enjoy living up to every promise that I make. I try to take the high road whenever possible. As a partner, I love to eat healthy, am a very good cook, and enjoy entertaining. I'm well known for my guacamole! And my healthy stir fry.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Large, loud, a force of nature, ... the thighs, the tan. A friend recently declared, I suffer from an excess of personality.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Enjoyed books long ago, Clavell, Shakespeare, a lot of science fiction, but don't dedicate the time now. I love movies but am frustrated by so much of the drek Hollywood dumps on us. Not a fan of horror, yet loved Wolf, The Shining, etc... not a fan of vampires. Love comedy (Caddyshack, Blues Brothers, Oh Brother), Godfather, Goodfellas, Saving Private Ryan, so many great movies... Josey Wales. Lots of great little sci-fi (didn't like The Matrix, but love Gattaca), and foreign movies (Kurosawa!). Don't hardly ever watch TV, but The Daily Show would be one... and Colbert! Not a fan of shows (live theatre) yet have loved live dance (modern and jazz) and big musicals (Chicago, The Music Man). Love music, especially live music, the blues, jazz, great rock (Petty, Black Keys, My Morning Jacket, Counting Crows, Little Feat... Stones, Santana, Allmans). Massively enjoy good food, sushi, Italian, Chinese, fresh veggies, yummy salads, hard cheeses, fish, bison, but don't eat beef. Don't have much of a sweet tooth. Fine wine and great beer, yes!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
A brilliant morning,
A task or problem to solve...
The tools to help me get there,
Friends to share the journey with,
A reward for the job well done.
A joyful rest.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My next adventure, big or small, my next workout, and getting the diet right to try and maximize the effort, and then the post-event meal to relax and enjoy. And I spend a lot of time thinking about how I'd like to find the right person to share this time with. Right now though its all about the home remodel , getting new home office u and running ASAP, and keeping all my opportunities to sell new pools moving forward.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
coming in from a great workout, getting a healthy meal going... perhaps packing for the weekend getaway, or already on the road. Lately, its catching a Giants game as the make another playoff run.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I am not perfect, but I do love trying to get it right
