I'm a personal trainer and am working toward becoming an amateur bodybuilder. I like to read books, write, work out at the gym and occassionally do other stuff. 2011/2012 brought on some serious changes in my lifestyle and outlook, because I'm Becoming an Adult (I assume...I lost the maturity handbook a few years ago and haven't found a replacement yet). I finally tackled my alcoholism and realised that all the time I used to spend drunk could be spent in the gym instead, so that's where I'm at now.
I'm an oddball who has found a long-term relationship. He's an awesome, sweet guy who is weird, which is great for me. We met in June, 2008, right here on OKCupid. I'm not looking for romance here anymore, but I would like to find a "bromance" with someone who likes to work out and maybe just chill once in a while.
I'm fairly shy and quiet when you first meet me. I used to solve this problem with beer, but realized that that caused a bunch of other problems that weren't so easy to solve, so I've been sober since October 2011. I don't think it's made me boring.
I play a lot of rugby with my club Muddy York. I'll gladly talk about rugby, weightlifting, and/or zombie apocalypses with anyone for hours.
Other than lifting weights, the bulk of my time is being spent writing fiction and reading books. Unless I'm in front of the computer reading websites about feminism and social justice.
I also have a growing collection of zombie apocalypse fiction that will one day prove to be my undoing.
I hope that the first thing they notice isn't the booger that's hanging from my nose.
...Okay, I just checked, and there isn't a booger, so yeah, probably the beard.
This list is so ridiculously out of date. I still love poutine, though, which will be my other undoing.
I'm puzzled about the ways that bias and prejudice keep us from connecting with each other as people. I'm an "includer" and feel like everyone should be able to participate in anything, even if that's not practically possible. I'm the guy who invites everyone to everything and then is confused when people don't play nice.
