My self-summary
I think that the best way to describe myself is a toys-R-us kid at heart. I'm pretty carefree and like to laugh and make other people laugh with me. I can be serious when I need to be (a requirement in my line of work) but I try to have as much fun as I can along the way and never take myself too seriously. I think if more people could laugh at themselves then the world would be a better place.

Also, I am equal parts adventurer and nerd (well, maybe 49/51%). I enjoy biking, skiing, dog walking, kayaking, bowling, hiking (in that order) and all the similar things that get me out in the world and enjoying it. I also like searching for the perfect cafe or restaurant that I never knew existed but now can't remember living without. The nerd part of me loves technology, science, comic books and sci-fi anything and everything. On days where the nerd side wins out I enjoy staying at home, cooking up a tried and true meal or experimenting with a new recipe then parking on the couch for a good movie or TV show.

That's about all I can summarize of myself for the moment. All this self reflection is starting to make me cross-eyed.
What I’m doing with my life
Career wise the Army thing is working out for me. I've been at it seven years now and it's let me see the world (some good parts and some not so good parts). I work a lot but enjoy what I do more often then not.

Personal life wise I think, like most people, I'm chasing the elusive American dream. There are countless variations out there, but they all boil down to: loving spouse, kids, house, picket fence of one color or another. I'm still trying to find my someone that has the same vision of happily ever after, but remain stubbornly hopeful until I do.
I’m really good at
Bill Nye style explanations of scientific mumbo jumbo
Witty metaphors
Getting lost, especially in parking lots
The first things people usually notice about me
That I apparently look young for my age
My hairstyle and what it means
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

The six things I could never do without
I've spent time in places where there wasn't much, and when push comes to shove the below were some of my must haves or wants so I'll go with...

1) Laptop- It is amazing how having all of your music, shows, movies, games, pictures, the internet, and skype can turn almost anywhere into home, as long as you have.....

2) The inter-web- need it for number 1.

3) Family and close friends (loved ones)- I think we are all attached to our loved ones by invisible rubber bands because the farther away I get from them the more the pull to go back.

4) Beer- What can I say? You don't appreciate it 'til its gone.

5) A shower, preferably a hot one.

6) A cute, warm smile to come home to (this is where I hope you come in).
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Science, the future and what super power I would take if i had to choose tomorrow (I have it narrowed down to the top three contenders)
On a typical Friday night I am
Lately it's been working, usually it's been enjoying a good movie at home or going out to eat at a local haunt, and every now and then its up on the ski slopes when I can sneak away from work early.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I am strangely obsessed with what okcupid thinks of me, and it irks me that the more questions I answer the more weird my personality profile seems to get.

I am almost always singing along to my music in the car while driving, shamelessly. I mean really belting it out.
