My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I am a blazing hot supernova of truth and beauty. And I can bake the fuck out of a flourless chocolate cake.

You know that feeling when you're riding your bike around a strange new city, taking random turns based on wind direction and secret intuitions, then suddenly find yourself in the amazing, beautiful, secret place where you were always supposed to be? I think that would be a pretty good date.

I work in software and love music--consuming and creating it--and I run a lot. Ran my 6th marathon in October. (PR!)

I'm in a monogamish marriage with Staput [currently seeing someone and taking an OKC sanity break--but she's beautiful and amazing, trust me]. Open and honest.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Running and skiing. Summited Mt. Shasta in May, and ran my first 50-mile trail race last June. Summer 2014 was epically awesome. Currently plotting to make 2015 even more epic and awesome.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Metaphors. Spoonerisms. Portmanteaus. Piloting two-wheeled vehicles. Being the glue. Being flexible.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My massive intellect and wry humor, I wish.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Long before listicles ruled the earth, Don DeLillo said, "I don’t want to list names because lists are a form of cultural hysteria." I don't want to be hysterical so I'll keep this as listless as possible. You know what I mean. I hope.

I love lay-readable books about the brain, e.g., The Brain That Changes Itself (Doidge), but mostly read fiction. Enjoyed the most recent Murakami, and no, I don't think he's overrated. I love authors brave enough to wander down blind alleys and holy-shit talented enough to write themselves out.

I'm currently enjoying the hell out of David Mitchell's latest book, it really reminds me of Murakami.

Music: I lean towards the Iron & Whiney and the AC Newman-ismic/Tom Waitsian sides of the spectra but am willing and able to let just about anything grow on me if you are passionate about it.

Movies: Recently loved Boyhood, The One I Love, Grabbers, and Journey to the West. Again, prefer indie quirk to blockbusters, but willing to give anything a chance.

TV: I believe we're in a golden age of television. Sure there's an unprecedented number of HORRIBLE shows, but shit floats and cream rises. Just skip the shit.

I'm cautiously ecstatic about the upcoming return of Twin Peaks on Showtime.

Food: LOVE it. I want all of the foods. I run to support my food habit. I really miss NYC restaurants and endless eating options.

Other: Roderick on the Line, Superego, Smartest Man In the World.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Periodic defiance of gravity
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How listening to audiobooks while running paints the world with passages from books I love. There's currently a stretch of trail that gets me all verklempt thinking about the end of East of Eden. TIMSHEL!

How much I'd like to a make a scratch-and-sniff map.

Time travel and version control.

The crazy crap I find while running. Exhibit A: a ball-gag box in the middle of the woods! Grosstastic.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
In very good company.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I recently bruised a rib by falling UP the stairs. Beat that.
