My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I moved to Philly 5 years ago for school and love it here. While school is a big part of my life, and I care a great deal about my career, it is unbelievably important to me to make time for fun. I spend a lot of time with my friends, and I'm always up for anything. I'm pretty laid back and try not to sweat the small stuff. Believe it or not, I absolutely love to cook. I like making fun, challenging recipes, and am always on the lookout for the next culinary project (I might even have accidentally committed myself to cooking a raccoon). I've also recently been bitten by the running bug, and now my day isn't complete if I haven't gone out for a run.

I'm kind of a nice guy. I'm the kind of guy that enjoys making people smile and laugh. I try to see the humor in life and point it out at all times. I am smart, caring, and unbelievably perceptive. I know what I want and what it takes to get it (kind of like a honey badger). I can be pretty assertive when I'm passionate about something, but I also have tact and am a smart communicator. I'm very honest and open, and I expect that in a partner.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm in my 6th year of grad school... only 3 years left!
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at making hard-to-get dinner reservations, whistling, cooking, remembering song lyrics, pretending like I remember song lyrics when I don't, starting every sentence with "So" and ending every sentence with elipsis...running, and finding fun things to do.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
People usually notice my enthusiasm and expressiveness. I'm also really genuine and generous, and I think people pick up on that right away.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books: I'm currently reading Modernist Cuisine, this ridiculous amazing set of books that has everything you could ever want to know about cooking. I also like Ender's Game, Harry Potter (all but the 2nd and 6th books although I appreciate them for how they fit into the story), Hunger Games is decent too.

Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Forrest Gump, Slumdog Millionaire, Midnight in Paris, Pitch Perfect

Shows: Friends, Glee, Modern Family, Big Bang Theory, New Girl, Game of Thrones, anything on Food Network (except for Guy Fieri, Paula Deen, or Robert Irvine...ew), and the Mindy Project

Music: Matchbox Twenty, Jason Mraz, Kelly Clarkson, Maroon 5, the Killers, Andy Grammer, Taylor Swift...oh and I'm obsessed with Macklemore

Food: I like contemporary American, Spanish, Mediterranean, Italian, and authentic east Asian food. When it comes to desserts, I'm a particular sucker for pineapple, coconut, and really most fruits. Favorite restaurants in Philly: Barbuzzo, Blackfish (in Chonshohocken, so good), Talula's Garden, and Pumpkin.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. An awesome kitchen--the better the kitchen, the more motivated I am to cook
2. family
3. friends
4. coconut, pineapple, and passion fruit
5. diet coke (I get the worst caffeine headaches otherwise)
6. hulu
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
what else I can put in a risotto, or what the menu will be if I ever start a pop-up restaurant...
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
out with friends, often being a foodie
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I spend every morning trying to learn how to rap like Macklemore while I'm in the shower
