My self-summary
Long-distance runner, artist, art educator, life-long learner, bibliophile, adventurer, and foodie.

I am currently finishing my last semester for my masters in art education. I am passionate about working with kids and I think art is a way for us to make sense of ourselves and our experiences in the world. I love painting, drawing, and working with clay -- but I'm always excited about the possibilities of working with new materials.

I am really into running and I just ran my first marathon at the end of October. I also love yoga, biking, skiing, and hiking (when I have the time to escape the city).

I grew up in NJ and have spent most of my adult life living in NYC and Washington, DC. Some other things that I love: farmer's markets, cooking new recipes, traveling to new places (or fantasizing about traveling), playing boggle, getting lost in bookstores, people watching, joe's coffee, spotify, museums, and marcel the shell.
What I’m doing with my life

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
It's tough to narrow it down, but here are a few favorites...

Shows: Breaking Bad, The Walking Dead, Homeland, Six Feet Under, Parks and Rec, Girls, New Girl

Food: I love trying new food. The more unusual or foreign, the better. I especially love Indian, Thai, Japanese, and Spanish. Avocados and bananas are my staples and ice-cream is my indulgence. Oh, and pretzel croissants from City Bakery.

Movies: A League of Their Own, Moonrise Kingdom, Lost in Translation

Music: The xx, Vampire Weekend, The Head and the Heart, Alt-J, Bon Iver, Grimes, The Black Keys, The Lumineers, M.I.A., Regina Spektor, Noah and the Whale, Santigold, Youth Lagoon, Mumford and Sons, The Avett Brothers, Stars, Sufjan Stevens, Dana Falconberry, Alex Winston, Local Natives, Lykke Li, Sigur Ros, Heartless Bastards, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, J.D. McPherson, Lily & Madeline, Kishi Bashi, Andrew Bird, Grizzly Bear, Wild Child...I could go on for a while...

Books: Murakami, Sedaris, Diaz, among others.

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Art. The important people in my life. My next run. My next race. My next meal. My next adventure.

I often think about what it would be like to move to the west coat (specifically SF or Vancouver), but then I always remind myself how hard it would be to leave NYC behind. The eternal debate.
