My self-summary
Im obsessed with the fact that I am an organism created by millions of years of evolution that is able to be awestruck by just pondering the fact that I am an organism created by millions of years of evolution. However I enjoy deactivating and devoting all mental resources to moving the body; playing hockey, slacklining, mountain biking, balancing on a tree branch, or back flipping off a rope swing. At times I aspire for a more primal life, but at the same time I feel fortunate to be able to witness the technological explosion that is currently underway.
What I’m doing with my life
Working as a dietitian and listening to alot of NPR podcast, Radiolab and Ted Radio Hour are a must!
I’m really good at
Making breakfast: oatmeal with raspberries, walnuts, peanut butter, raisins, coconut, maple syrup, and shit ton of cinnamon.
The first things people usually notice about me
at certain times of the year my lavish beard, but when it gets hot out I have to shave.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I love talking about shit I like!
Books: non-fiction books about human nature and evolution mostly. I just donated all my books and am still not sure how I feel about it. Just felt like my identity was captured by those books on the shelf. Got a kindle now, time to make a new identity I suppose.
Movies: Shawshank and Fight Club
Shows: Daily Show
Music: Indie rock, folk. Favorite band is called Two Gallants.
Food: Organic, Local, Grass-fed meats raised in the most ethically and responsible manner that is available.
The six things I could never do without
Coconut oil, cast iron skillet, cycles, spectacles, floss, 85% dark chocolate.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
how future technology could possibly radically change our way of life, mostly with optimism. When will a computer program be able to perform my job?
On a typical Friday night I am
out to dinner, drinking a hoppy beer
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
that I really enjoy hula hooping.
