I am introspective, curious, and active.

My Self-Summary

People have always told me I should be a food critic, as that occupation would utilize more than one of my talents (I used to be a chef and I'm a decent writer). Unfortunately, it was not a job on Craigslist, so I came to Korea to teach English. I work at a hagwan near Olympic Park, which is sweet (the park not the hagwan) and so far I am enjoying my time here. I love living in new places, which explains Korea. I consider myself a very flexible and open-minded person. Always willing try/taste/experience new things.

What I’m doing with my life

Back in the states I taught at a college, I think I prefer that environment. My current job - 8 hours a day, 5 days a week - is brutal.
Right now, I am trying to get as much out of my free time as possible. I like to be active, be outdoors, build things, and definitely people watch.

I have to admit I kind of don't like the multiple choice questions to determine who I am format. While it is probably accurate, I prefer to believe otherwise. I definitely see the world in a variety of colors as opposed to black and white. Their are exceptions to every rule, truth is highly variable, and problems are only as big as you make them out to be.

I’m really good at

Pretty much everything except remembering insignificant details, event planning, enjoying mustard, folding clothes, shopping, taking crappy jobs seriously, worrying, holding a grudge, embracing technological fads, having conversations with people I don't find interesting, and thinking up puns.

The first things people usually notice about me

In Korea - my beard if I don't shave.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Plato and Foucault
A confederacy of dunces
Kubrick, sci-fi, cave man and dystopian future movies
Peep Show
Punk, electro, bourgey hiphop, and new wave
Any sort of food that is made well.

The six things I could never do without

1.The promise of experiencing something new
2. Free time
3. Internet
4. A bike
5. A good cast iron skillet - I currently do not have
6. I guess I'm low maintenance

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Trying to figure out what to do with my life.

On a typical Friday night I am

I haven't been here long enough to establish a pattern. So far I have had galbi, gone to a bar, went to bed early, went to a club, went to japan, jimjilbang, stayed home, had tea

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

I have two goldfish.
