My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
How do you sum up the essence of a person in a paragraph?

Well, here are a few specifics. I don't have any crazy ex-wives, no drug habits, no felony arrests, no alcohol dependency, no bodies in the trunk. :)

On a more general note, I'm a pretty happy guy looking for a nice down to earth girl. I prefer rural to urban in most cases. I love the whole 'getting away from it all' thing and really enjoy hiking in the mountains. I believe in being direct yet tactful. I think that communication and compromise are the keys to any successful relationship. I have about 100 different hobbies that grab my attention at random. Right now I am teaching myself to play guitar and I'm learning to ride a motorcycle. I am a huge hockey fan (Pittsburgh is my team) but I won't make you watch it with me as long as you don't make me watch reality shows.

I am looking for someone who appreciates the little things. Someone who is intelligent and witty but at the same time a bit silly and sometimes clumsy. Someone who can laugh at themselves but can be serious when the situation calls for it. Someone who can engage in a conversation about the origins of the universe or their favorite episode of Family Guy.

Basically I have taken the time in my life to learn about myself. I know what I want and don't want, and I know what is important to me. My happiness is not dependent on anyone else, I'm just looking to share that happiness with someone. I'm looking for a woman who can say the same about themselves. It's more complicated than it sounds and less common than you might think.

If you're still reading and any of this makes sense, maybe we should chat.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Playing devil's advocate
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Good question. I have no idea.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Movies - Some of my favorites are Braveheart, Old School, Tears of the Sun, The Princess Bride, not a big fan of horror movies because there is always that moment where I say, "there's no way I would have done that in this situation."

Music - Love my rock music! I mostly listen to hard rock but my music collection also includes some classical, jazz, older rap....kind of all over the place like most people. Hate country, sorry.

Books - Again kind of all over the road, both fiction and non-fiction. Whatever grabs me at that moment.

Food - I'm a steak and potatoes guy. I don't like most green food (vegetables), I wish I did. I'm a little jealous of people that crave a salad. I love pizza and crave chocolate. Primanti Bros. or maybe Cheeburger Cheeburger, they have the best milkshakes ever. However, I can and do go fancier when the situation calls for it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Ignoring the obvious and in no particular order.

My guitar
NHL Center Ice
iPhone (although I hate the fact that I've grown so dependent on this one)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Space/time, lunch, what I want to be when I grow up.
