I am a mouse, who barks, and hops down the street.
My Self-Summary
I live in Brooklyn and my favorite thing to do is walk around and
look at all the beautiful brownstones. I was born in Long Island
and thought it was the greater social evil throughout my high
school career. Then I grew up and got over it. I am an enthusiastic
and empathetic human being. I love sunlight, live music, and
dancing. I try to be a nice New Yorker because too many of them are
pissed off and in a bad mood, Though I do love to complain once in
a while. I have been blessed with family and friends. People have
described me as happy, funny, and free spirited. I think I am all
of those things and like many have a more serious and private side.
I am open to hanging out with all sorts of people and get along
with most. I love chilling out and watching a movie, but I also
like adventures in the city.
What I’m doing with my life
I am missing my summer vacation right now. I'm a teacher and I LOVE
to travel. This summer I was able to travel to India, Costa Rica,
and the Dominican Republic. Professionally I work as an art teacher
for a Kindergarten - 8th grade school. I really appreciate the
honesty and sassiness of children. I'm pretty committed to my work
as an Art Teacher, but don't talk about work all the time. I love
to have work/freetime balance.
I’m really good at
swimming, dancing the kid and play, photographing things, watching
movies, meeting new people, engaging in conversation.
The first things people usually notice about me
my shoelaces are untied. not anymore I have sneakers with velcro.
Generally people notice my eyes and jewelry.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Some books I had enjoyed reading are Things Fall Apart, The Kitchen
God's Wife, God of Small Things, The Brief Wondrous Life of Oscar
Wao, Catcher in the Rye, the biography of Morrissey. I am open to
most music. My early loves were Bob Marley, the Smiths, and Ella
Fitzgerald. I love Buena Vista Social Club, Bossa Nova, the City of
God Soundtrack. I love Britpop like Blur and Pulp. New Wave like
Depeche Mode, the Cure, Pet Boys, Erasure. I love the Roots and
Common. I enjoy my Johnny Cash/Bob Dylan duet CD, Fela Kuti, Norah
Jones, Portishead, Tricky, Fleet Foxes, Bon Iver, House and Booty,
classical and Bollywood, Reggae, Reggae, Reggae, Desmond Dekker,
The Clash, Iggy Pop, Rhythm is a Dancer, It's Your Choice
Companion. I'm open. I love hearing something new. As far as food
goes. My mom is the greatest cook. She's teaching me how to cook
now. I love Asian (all cuisine), Middle Eastern, Mexican. I also
love good, fresh food. And a Jamaican Patty. The movie I just saw
was Sunshine. My brother forced me to watch the Rocky Series,
Indian Jones series, Bruce Lee's movies, Jean Claude Vandam. So I
now have an appreciation for action and martial arts movies. Movies
that I picked myself that I love are Chungking Express, Amelie, any
John Hughs movie.
The six things I could never do without
1. my glasses and contacts. I'll be in blind trouble if the world
ends.
2. Trees and all things green
3. Sunlight
4. paper and pen
5. air
6. scarves
I spend a lot of time thinking about
who people are on the subway. I want to know what they did that day
and what's buzzing in their brains. I think about my songs that get
stuck in my head. I think about my parents, ideas for art projects,
my friends, what I'm going to eat.
On a typical Friday night I am
on the go. I like to see friends at a party or a bar. I like to
dance. I also love lo key time. I love the movies and chilling with
friends at home.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
I spat off the Empire State Building.
You should message me if
you are looking to laugh and talk. You like to rollerskate, look at
art, find comedy in everyday living, have empathy for human kind,
are sensitive to people's needs. You don't take things too
seriously, but are a serious person. You can handle someone who can
be silly, but also lowkey. You can appreciate independence,
relaxation, and travel.
