I am passionate, reflective, and active.

My Self-Summary

Just another crazy soul looking for his partner in life. Life is too good to not share it with somebody, growing together and working to cause change in the world around us.
I try to enjoy life as much as possible. It's all too short to not live each day as it is your last, and enjoy each and every minute.
My family is very important to me - I have 5 nephews and nieces in the area and don't get to spend enough time with them...
I'm a big Portland Trail Blazers fan - I know geeky, but I swear, going to Blazer games is like going to church. The fans are amazing - we're all a big family!
I'm done with school for now - with a bachelors degree in Political Science. I may go back for master's someday, but for now I'm enjoying the time away from school.

What I’m doing with my life

I work for a nonprofit, live down on the river with my two dogs. Love sailing, photography, hiking, spending time with family and friends, kayaking, fly-fishing and reading a good book next to the fire...

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

I'm a nut for Leo Tolstoy's novels. Also Ruskin, Thoreau, Emerson, etc. I don't read very much contemporary fiction, but read dozens of classics and non fiction works a year.
I like almost all types of music, just not country. Not a twang kind of guy.
Food: I am gluten free - which makes it a bit harder to go out and eat wherever you like, but its made me a much better cook. I can bake some incredible treats now =)

The six things I could never do without

A musical instrument (piano or guitar)
A pad to write on
A good book
A good friend
A camera
Passion

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Our purpose in life, finding our passions, causing change in the world around us... you know, the typical 26 year old things =)

On a typical Friday night I am

Depends on the week. I'm comfortable staying in with a good book by the fire or a movie in bed, or other times I'll head out for a show in town. Probably my favorite way to spend a friday night is hiking into the forest and spending the night with a camp fire, and gazing at the stars all night.

You should message me if

if you believe that life is not meant to be lived idly, if you have passion and conviction to make a difference in this world, if you're looking not for holes in your heart to be filled, but rather to share and empower each other to be better and more engaged.
