My right AND left brain are in overdrive most of the time and struggling for full control. (Don't worry! There is only one integrated personality in here.) I love science!!! I am the quintessential geek, but I am outdoorsy and love to be active. I am a political liberal, but I live a conservative personal life. I don't naturally expect the worst from people; I realize that life just simply does with us what it will sometimes. I am very fortunate to have lived the life that I have--to be healthy and able to learn as I do are both priceless gifts. As for the true love of my life, I miss France every day, but would miss my family here in the U.S. too much if I ever moved there full time. I would love to find a job that would take me back and forth on a regular basis.

I felt like a big-city girl living in small-town Iowa. Then, I hit my head really hard on that darned glass ceiling, so I went back to college and completed two degrees. In the process, I learned about the world AND myself. In the last few years, I have undergone an incredible evolution--from writer, to photographer, graphics designer, videographer and animator, and now I'm knee-deep in HTML5, CSS and other miscellaneous client-side and social media technologies. When I wake up with a creative idea, I might as well get up and rev up the computer because I can't turn my brain off; I find this a very good thing.

I believe the very best products of work arise when teamwork is encouraged, ethical behavior is nurtured from the highest levels, and back-stabbing kept to a minimum. For over 10 years, I saw too much corruption and too many people doing mediocre performance raking in $150K/yr. paychecks in Washington, DC. At the risk of sounding like Dorothy, at least for now, I feel that my greener pastures really are in the Midwest where people are more genuine, hard-working, and honest, and certainly not in the Land of Oz.

I'm certainly not afraid to get my hands dirty. I like being physically active in the gym, and I like to be outside when the weather isn't too cold.

(I know this is going to sound like something I would say at a job interview, but it's at the heart of who I am, so here goes...) I am good at big-picture assessment and building strategies based on fundamentals. I am curious about almost everything. I can memorize a list in no time. I have become very good at conveying messages through images, or so they tell me. : ) I am good at learning languages.

I think people just usually notice I'm alone. I am very independent, and I am out and about by myself quite often.

I tend not to read books, except as they have to do with web sites, graphics or the romance languages (i.e., Spanish, French, Italian). I enjoy watching PBS and Smithsonian online, and love reading National Geographic, Scientific American, and Smithsonian Magazine. I can actually watch a baseball game or soccer every now and again, and I like watching travel, nature, and science shows on TV, BUT I don't really watch TV and don't even own one. With a fascination for moving graphics and special effects, I am learning to create. I love a lot of the comic book characters that have recently found new life on the silver screen. The Iron Man and Batman are special favorites. As for movies, I'm a little like a child in my tastes sometimes with Enchanted, Despicable Me, American in Paris, Matchmaker (yes, Matchmaker), Legally Blonde, and Bridget Jones at the top of my favorites list, but I also really enjoy action movies including the Jason Bourne and the more recent James Bond films. Johnny Depp is a god among men; I can't believe he's from Kentucky.

I don't even want a whole lot of stuff. Life, to me, is about experiences and engaging with people I find interesting.

It just depends. I like to see the new movies when they come out, but I would wait until they came out in DVD if I had someone special to watch them at home with me.

I really hope I haven't loved for the last time in my life, but I want to find a worthy distraction. The thing is, I would rather fly solo than be in a bad relationship. So, if you're "desperately seeking Susan," please look elsewhere. But if you're willing to take the time, and looking for a hard-working, passionate girl with which to be a real partner and have a monogamous relationship, send me a note.
